response to my complaint about the new "share" button

You are EXACTLY right - they don't know what to do with us.  so would they rather we just go away? Or can they ask?  I will do what Steph said and write them; express my concern and give some suggestions.  If they take and run with it, great.. if not.. well, it is what it is. It's always a great time to visit.

And yes, this SITE is free, but the conference is not.

So why can't YOU be a breakout session speaker? We oldtimers know you are an incredible inspiration and proof that your tool will always work if you work it.

I am trying to work on my self confidence and with that, trying to speak up for what I need.  I have now so I'm done. I know i'm worth it.

If I had "given up" on OH when I was only 3 years out, I wouldn't have met any of you...just something to think about.

So it's all worth it, isn't it?

I am going to justify my whining and *****ing by writing a letter to OH about what I would like to see at the conference.  And if nothing happens, then I will spend my time on the important stuff.. that's socializin!

I won't leave here. Just won't think that will change.

Becky- your post reminded me.  I gave them GINA's name for a resource as a speaker on regain/loss and working your tool.

I am not happy with the addition of the SHARE button.  This is not a generic social networking site.  It is a site dedicated to a very personal journey.  I know that anyone can C&P anything anytime, but it takes a lot more effort to do that.  The Share button just makes it too easy.

I would like to see them implement a feature where you can block all of our posts from being shared if you want to.  If not, then that is your option.  If someone shares a thread to FB then only those posts that allow sharing show up - similar to ignoring someone where their posts don't display.

For now I took my picture down so if my comments are shared on FB my picture won't go with it.  If they come to OH they won't be able to see my profile unless I have friended them, in which case I don't mind.

If you want to make a serious statement that hits their pocketbook, then publicly boycotting their next OH Convention is always an option......  and I mean make a big deal about it.......  someone good at stirring the pot. 

I really like your idea of letting each person decide if their posts can be shared or not... that seems like it would be a win win situation for everyone.  Although most posts I have read are totally against these share buttons.

I'm with you about NOT attending events and letters to the sponsors and advertisers advicing that we will not be purchasing their items because of the decision OH has made.  AND scheduling a separate event the same weekend as an OH conference would make a huge impact on their revenues.

I realize that it's cutting off our nose to spite our face BUT it's also a matter of privacy and the principle of not even being asked!

But before the button.. anyone could've seen your post and copy and pasted it into their facebook if they wanted... there's no change..
It's just the people who wanna share can click a button to do it more quickly now..
