Okay folks...how did you do today?  I'm n the upper end of what I can eat, but that's okay.  I can eat 1700 calories and still lose 2 lbs. per week...I know old times with WW I would have to make myself eat all I had to to lose at times.

Calories: 1500    Protein: 119 g.    all vits/supplements in

rode my bike 20+ minutes this morning

Food:
protein coffee
sf decaf w/ creamer coffee

chicken fajita taco w/ queso for the cheese (made w/ soy flour)
baked defatted meat crisps w. 1 oz. of string cheese and 4 Triscuits

how did your day turn out?

I did well again today-didn't stick to my plan but actually did BETTER than my plan.  So far the totals are:  Calories 975  Protein 96.  I'm sure I'll have some sort of snack later.  Planning on SF/FF pudding if the carb monster doesn't get me.

Breakfast: Western bagel with peanut butter
Lunch: sauteed shrimp, ****tail sauce
Snack: 1/2 serving frozen protein "ice cream"
Dinner: lean grilled porkchop, 1/2 cup applesauce, fresh strawberries

Okay for the most part I did really well.... even though I caved and got a small frosty at Wendy's tonight.  Protein was on the low end... still trying to figure out the whole calorie thing... since WLS I know I have totally screwed up my metabolism!!! When I was at my heaviest I would eat 1700 to lose... then 1500.  Since WLS I tend to lose best if I stay around 1000cal....no idea what I need to just maintain where I am give or take a few lbs. Going to be trial and error for awhile on that!!!

I am fairly new to Obesityhelp but had my RNY back on Oct.8,2009. The diabetic diet that I was placed on I am suppose to eat 1800 calories. I struggle daily just to eat even reach roughly 1200 calories. My family is concerned that I do not eat enough and understand with weight loss surgery I am not suppose to need much. I am just now slowly being able to eat solid foods. I see a nutritionist monthly and e-mail dietary updates weekly to her. My exercise is being limited by the nutritionist until I can get my caloric intake closer to what I a suppose to be at but I walk daily take the stair oftenAs for fluids I struggle to drink enough fluids and have had this problem even before surgery. As I write the post I have only taken in about 68 ounces. My vitamin taking i**** and miss at times which is why I am currently working on a reminder system and stocking up snacks and vitamins at work so that I have them there even when I am rushed. Protein shakes I have trouble with so I found Think Thin protein bars which have 20 grams of protein no sugar, and glutin free. Protein shakes to me are to think and sweet but I have managed to come up with ways to combine fruit and cofee to the two flavor of protein drinks I have. I am planning on ordering some unflavored protein to help out. So hopefully I can post a good daily meal on the forum in the future but until then I continue my daily struggles and happy that I did have the weight loss surgery.

I'm surprised that you're able to eat 1200 calories.  I think I was eating 500-600 at 3 months out and the 68 oz of liquids is great too.  You are still very new and it sounds to me like you're doing great.  Hang in there and keep coming to the board for support and encouragement.

It is not easy to eat that much but I am trying to follow what the nutirtionist wants but I would like to exercise a little more intense then she wants to let me. I would not say I doing great but I am believe I am on target so far since the surgey 73 lbs lost my goal is in site. Which is why the nutritionist wants me to have better control of my weight loss because it is going to be hard for me to maintain my weight within a tight band. I am large frame individual so we want my weight to be sutble to my frame not what is consider ideal for my height. The last time I ws able to get down to my ideal through extreme diet and exercise I had people ask if I was extremely ill or anorexic. So we discussed shooting for high end of my ideal weight + or - 5 lbs. I had some minor complications after my surgery that prolonged my recovery one incision got some infected it made getting up out of bed extremel painful and them 4 weeks later I could not keep hardly anything down and had my gall bladder removed. Ever since then it has a very slow progression. Making sure I can handle one food at and chew correctly. My work, school work, and family makes difficult to eat enough calories let alone try to drink enough fluids and take my vitamins. So I am hangin and trying to do better at all of them. I just woke up so I need to get a move on I have to get my breakfast down as well as some vitamins. I will continues to appear and post on the message board.
