Please Help Thinking about Plastics

So I'm 7 months out of surgery and have lost 90lbs which puts me at a BMI of 28-29.  Dr. says 10lbs or so & I will be in the "Normal BMI" range. Now I know you have to have lost what you wont to lose and be stable for like 4-6 months before one should have plastics; but Dr. Garth's PA said that in no way would it hurt to start seeing Plastic Dr. see what all I could expect. Like let them check my insurance and check on cost etc.... & of course see what the Dr.'s think I should or should not have done.

I was referred to Dr. Camille Cash by Dr. Garth's office. I do have a appointment with her; but I was wonder if anyone from her has used her and what I can expect.

Also for those of you that have had plastics please give me your input as for things I should ask, things I should expect and of course any Dr.'s you think are great. I most likely will be willing to have 2nd, & 3rd opinions and I need all the direction I can get. I would like to stay with Dr.'s that use hospital's vs in house and I would like to stick to Dr.'s in the Houston medical center. I live in Cleveland so pretty much anywhere I go is gonna be a journey; but I know my way around the Med Center pretty well.

Things I would like to have done are my arms, my tummy & to fill my deflated boobs back up & maybe my legs. I know there are proper names for all of those; but I don't know them all.
I know I know research is the key thing here. That is why I'm asking for opinions from the best bunch of people I know. The Texas Message Board Rocks.

Thank you all.

Congrats  Cindy on your WL journey.   You have done amazing.    I had a LBL 2 1/2 yrs ago.     I did lots of reasearch on the Plastic Surgery Messageboard and asked lots of questions to the ones who had just gone through this.    You might want to check there.   Most of the PS's can tell you what you need to have done when you go for your consult with them.     It is up to you if you want to spend the money for it.    As for insurance paying for plastics.....most do NOT cover it.   If yours does then you are very lucky.   I was out $13,000 on PS and they did NOT remove enough skin.   Do lots of research on your surgeon and make sure that they will do what you want done or go to someone who will.   I am contemplating getting another TT ( tummy tuck ) because I still have lots of skin there and around my midsection of my body.    Dr LoMonaco is a wonderful PS that is in Houston.    I would use him in a heartbeat if he weren't 5.5 hours away.    Good luck on your plastics journey.

What part bothers you the most?  I decided to do my arms first because they bothered me the most and I looked silly in 3/4 length sleeves in Houston.  The rest of my saggy skin is hidden pretty well in my clothes.  I figure I'll do a lower body lift next and then round 3 will be breast lift/augmentation and inner thigh lift.

Many doctors will do brachioplasty and breast lift/breast augmentation together, but I only did arms.  I have pictures posted on my profile, if you'd like to see them.  I'm 5 weeks out now.  I used Dr. Wainwright and LOVE him.  I think my arms look fabulous and even better then they did when I was in my 20's.

I think everything is pretty much outpatient these days and don't know of many who use hospitals.  My surgery center was near the med center, so I felt safe.

Laura you look great.

The part that bothers me most would be like you my arms. Yuck. Your right the 3/4 length sleeves really does not go in this area. Then I guess my breast would be next.

I agree everything else is pretty well hidden.

My daughter says I should buy one of those body shaping things; but I have no clue how, what, when or where to go about that. She says Avon has them; but I would think one would need to try it on to make sure it fits. Something to think about I guess.

Oh and wow I had no ideal that they could do all this outpatient. Guess it cuts down on cost. I always fell better after surgery once I get home anyways. Seems like I start to heal faster when I get back in some kind of routine.

Again you look great and thanks so much.

I used Dr. Wainwright too for my lower body lift, then brachioplasty (arms) and breast reduction/lift.  He did a great job.

Thank you so much ladies for your in put. It really means a lot to have people near by that can give you info on Dr.'s in the area.
I promise Viv I will do my research as when I get this done I don't wont to have to be going back a year from know because I don't like it.
I have seen that there are a lot of peeps from this board that use Dr. Wainwright & Dr. L; but I have not seen any that have used Dr. Cash; but from what I'm told she does a lot of Dr. Garth's peeps and "she" understands the whole weight lose thing.
Do any of you by chance have Dr. Wainwrights or Dr. L's web sites I would love to check them out also?
I have also seen where a few people have used the Baylor Residency Program in Houston. I'm not really sure how that works though.

Again thank you so much.

Dr. Wainwright does not have a website.  He is not "flashy" like Dr. L, but just as good.  His costs are also a lot lower, which is something I had to consider since I was self-pay and am a poor single mom.

Cindy, if you have a facebook, look up John LoMonaco. Dr. L has a facebook and is very active on it, and will email back and forth with you. He's pretty awesome!
