Does anyone practice yoga?  I'm wondering if there are any limitations involved for those of us that have had RNY.  Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The reason I'm asking is because I started yoga classes last weekend.  I know a lot of the postures compress your internal organs.  Last night was my 6th class, and I am in a lot of pain now.  I'm not sure if it is just muscle strain, like maybe I just did something wrong, or if I have something else going on.  Most of my pain seems to be on the right side in the middle of my abdomen and the middle part of my back.  But I noticed when I tried to eat lunch it started hurting a little more.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Hey girl, good to see you again!!  As far out as you are, there should be no problem with doing Yoga.  I think it's just more strenous than it looks.  One of my "skinny" friends does it and when she first started it kicked her butt too.  Hang in there, hope you feel better soon.

Nope, No limitations unless you're freshly out of surgery or something.

Regardless of RNY or not, the rule with yoga is that "if it hurts, don't do it, or modity"

Vivian--I do not have a gall bladder anymore.  I think my concern is that it's not just my back that is hurting.  It's my entire abdomen.  I have had trouble eating today--as soon as I start eating my entire abdomen hurts and I get nauseated.  I have been sore the past few days.  This is not soreness, but actual pain.
