Seminar next week - Dr appt soon (?)

 I called the doctor I want to do my surgery, and it's mandatory I attend a seminar before an appt. can be made with the surgeon.  

I should be able to make an appt. with the Dr. at the seminar!  I will arrive early in hopes I can make that appointment then! :-)

I am so excited - but also scared.  Suppose that's perfectly normal. he-he!

I've done so much research already and am really wanting to just get the show on the road!

Should be interesting next Wednesday - at the seminar. 

I'll be self-pay.... and truly hope that will enable my surgery date to be very soon!!!!

Anyone else self-pay?  Did you find your surgery was scheduled quickly (since you weren't waiting on ins approval)??

My doctor's seminar was from 9:00 am until noon... a part of the seminar included scheduling your initial visit to his office... my visit was at 1:00 pm that same day....  I initially went to his seminar with the intention of being a self-pay because my insurance booklet said NO OBESITY SURGERY... as a result of my initial visit his insurance person (who knew that right terminology) discovered the 'unless medically necessary' part they failed to mention..... I had to jump through the normal insurance hoops.... but upon receiving the notice that I had been approved they were ready to schedule my surgery for 4 days later... I needed more time than that to get myself ready... LOL

Julie, which surgeon did you choose, still DS right?

I was a self-pay......things move very, very quickly.  As soon as I got the cashiers check for my surgeon and over nighted to him I had my surgery date.  Got the information due to the Hospital and Anesthesiologist and paid via debit card.

 WOW!!!  3 days later - that IS fast!!!  :-)

I am going to a seminar Wed. hosted by Dr. Wilson.  When I talked to the office, it sounded like I'd get an appointment to see him at the seminar.... now whether that is seeing him right after the seminar or getting an appt to see him at a later date, I'm not positive, but will certainly find out soon!!  :-)

I really want to get the surgery and have time to heal before my daughter and I go to Walt Disney World in May 2010!!!  So - the sooner, the better.

I attended my surgeon's seminar at noon and had my consultation with him at 2:30 that same afternoon.  Forty-five days (or less) later I had my surgery - I could have done it sooner, but was working out of state on a project that had to be finished before I took off work for an elective surgery.

The seminar is in the evening, so not sure if the doctor will see anyone after it's over.  I'll plan on making my appointment - and try to make it as soon as possible.
