GOOD MORNING! I think its time we have a before and after show/story time because its just a miracle to lose this kind of weight and have a new life. Maybe it will be inspiration for some of us-me especially-to get motivated to get back into the swing of things. So, share your story or pictures or both!
Happy MLK day!

No pictures, as I am at my work computer.  But my favorite before and after story involves Mary.

Four years ago whenever we went out in public, she could not walk far at all.  Bad enough that we had to get an electric wheelchair for her.  She used it all the time at the Ballpark.  Whenever we went to the store.  Etc.

In June 2006 she had her surgery.  Used the wheelchair for less than 2 weeks.  Never used it again, we finally sold it.  Now she gets in trouble for running in my son's house when she plays with the grandkids.

Hope everyone has a good day.  Those of you that are off from work, enjoy your day.  The rest, survive the day.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Good morning. How is everyone? Of course on my day off I wake up on my own 30 minutes before my alarm normally goes off during the work week. I went to bed pretty early though.Have a busy day ahead though- foot doc at 10, PT at 11, then off to Dallas for Chris's appointment at 1:30. Alot of driving and unfortunately my foot is hurting so that won't make it any better- just worse. Hope PT helps some today. I did my exercises last night for my foot like a good girl. I'm not the best at remembering!

George- great story! I am still in awe when I'm able to squeeze into small spaces- like in between chairs and a table in a meeting and stuff like that. Even though I've regained some I'm still very happy with the way my life is now. i've just got to get back on track. I've gained since my foot started to hurt back in August.

Hope everyone has a great day today!

Good Morning Alissa and the rest of my TMB family,

I have no idea why I am up, as I am extreamly tired.  Oh well.  I got up and then not even five minuets later Eric was up.  I told him to take his medicine and go back to bed.  Not going to let him affect my me time.  He was supposed to stay at a friends house tonight but we made the decision last night that he should probably stay home as he is sniffy, and has a nasty cold.  No sence in spreading it. He was not to happy but maybe we can schedule for next weekend.  We are all off today.  Mark is going to go with me today to the pain management doctor.  I sure hope it will not take them to long to schedule my appt for my injections.  I am guessing it will be a couple of weeks cause Mark will be in school next week and you normally have to have someone with you.  I will let you guys know how I make out.  Ok I need more coffee.  Prayers for all those in need this morning especially Meggie, and Eric.  Have a blessed day.  Love you guys.

Good Morning Train!

WOOOHOOO for Miraculous Mondays!  I'm back in the office today, but that's okay because I hit the gym and my endorphin high is kickin' like chicken  LOL  Talk about miracles, the gym is mine.... I went from sciatica (sp) so bad that sometimes the only way I could sleep was on my hands and knees and using the electric wheelchair to do my shopping, to hitting the gym every time I'm in the office, going to Six Flags, out walking the hubby, playing with my grandkids, riding bikes again, so many things that I had missed out on!  I too am at work, so no pics, sorry...

Prayers are going up for all that need them, Eric and Meggie especially....

How about Steely Dan's Do It Again to get this week started off right?

In the mornin you go gunnin'
For the man who stole your water
And you fire till he is done in
But they catch you at the border
And the mourners are all singin'
As they drag you by your feet
But the hangman isn't hangin'
And they put you on the street

You go back Jack do it again
Wheel turnin' 'round and 'round
You go back Jack do it again

When you know she's no high climber
Then you find your only friend
In a room with your two timer
And you're sure you're near the end
Then you love a little wild one
And she brings you only sorrow
All the time you know she's smilin'
You'll be on your knees tomorrow

You go back Jack do it again
Wheel turnin' 'round and 'round
You go back Jack do it again

Now you swear and kick and beg us
That you're not a gamblin' man
Then you find you're back in Vegas
With a handle in your hand
Your black cards can make you money
So you hide them when you're able
In the land of milk and honey
You must put them on the table

You go back Jack do it again
Wheel turnin' 'round and 'round
You go back Jack do it again

Ya'll have a great day my friends!

Finally got to sleep around 1, was awake at 4, but I DO have to go to work today. As some of you know, today begins my last week at the site here in HSV, as they have opted to not renew their contract with the company I work for. (Nothing personal, strictly business, the new proposal was unacceptable to them) I don't know what this means to my current employment, but am trying to stay focused on the "prize" because I just have a bad feeling about it. I talked to someone over the weekend, who immediately said to me, "Oh no, was it because of your job performance?" I bet some of you can even guess who said it, she always has such "nice" and "positive" things to say.  Why do I bother? I want to thank my TMB friends who have been so supportive, offering words of wisdom, friendship and including me in their prayers.

I know that there are many of us who are looking for new opportunities, so please keep us in your thoughts.  I hope that a couple of you get THE phone call with good news today.

Hugs and prayers for Jenny and Eric, Meggie, Jill, July and Sandi (who are recovering from surgery {if I missed your name, I'm sorry!}) and anyone else who is struggling with any kind of issue. God knows we could all use a little extra support at different points in our lives. An extra prayer for those in Haiti.

HUGS to all!  Mari

Mari,

My prayers are with you this week as you finish out the job you are on.  I will pray that they have something better for you to move on too.  You know God never closes one door without opening another!  Try and keep that in mind.  Hugs.

I've got a saga to continue.  It began Saturday afternoon, when DH came home with sheet rock he'd bought for our bathroom remodeling project.  He parked in the backyard to unload the sheet rock and the truck sank to its axel in mud.

He spent most of Sunday trying to get it unstuck and finally - around 5:30 pm - called a tow truck.  It showed up and got stuck, too!!!

A second truck was called for and arrived.  It freed the first tow truck, but between them, they still couldn't get our truck out.

So, DH plans to spend today with a neighbor, renting a wench/pulley gizmo and wenching the truck out.  If that doesn't work, the tow truck guys said to call them and they'll bring the big guns.

I have no idea how much this is gonna cost, but I sure hit the wrong food last night.  Hubby is looking grim, the master bathroom is an absolute wreck from his demolition so far.  It has no water.  He planned to spend this weekend taking down the old material from walls and floors.  Instead...I'm wondering about how we're gonna pay for all this unexpected problem and trying to stay calm in front of him.  (The last thing he needs is to see my "chicken dance".)

Thanks for letting me vent.  Now, back to your regular program.

yeah but if the chicken dance will keep you away from the bad food choices you may need to just go ahead and do it... and you can bet in his own head he's freaking out and doing his own version of the chicken dance....  mutual venting of one's frustrations (fears, desires, etc) can be good for the soul and relationship among other things....

Hugs.....
