Frustrated, scared and getting depressed

Guys, I am getting so frustrated! I am still on a major stall. I have been for 3 weeks! It all started when I started exercising. I always stall when I begin an exercise program but never this long. I am getting scared and depressed and I don't know what to do. I still have 100+ pounds to lose. What if I am done losing? I don't know how to break this stall. At one point last month I was down to 281.5. On the 5th I was at 283.2. This morning I weighed at 284! I am exercising an hour a day 5 days a week and lighter exercise on the weekends. I am eating 1000 calories a day. I should be losing! I know one way to break a plateau is to shake things up. Isn't exercising shaking it up? I just don't get it and I don't know what to do. The frustration is making me want to eat bad things in large quantities. I'm not but I feel like it. I need help guys. Please give me some suggestions on how to get through this hump both by breaking my stall and keeping my sanity!

XOXO

Honey, It breaks my heart when I get on here and see a newbie who is hurting either mentally or physically. You have to be patient. I went thru the same thing you are as well as many others. It will pass. I promise you. When we have the surgery we want it to come off so fast. I give you my word that when you look back a few yrs from now and you will say "Wow, it went by so fast."
Right now you are concentrating on this too much. You are in the honeymoon stage. This is the easy party. Trust me. I am 6 yrs out. I can remember those days as if they were yesterday. Looks like you might not be getting enough calories in.
This is the truth and I probably will be bashed for this. I watched what I ate. I did this for 5 weeks. It was thought I was going to die. It was all I could do to get 14 lbs off of me. I lost 14 lbs. I got exhausted mentally. I stopped. I stopped counting. I stopping writing it all down. I lost 6 lbs immediately after stopping killing myself. (lol) I ate anything I wanted to. I ate crap. It is almost like my body said "forget you" I'm holding on to the weight. Then my body was very happy when I ate what I wanted to. Sometimes our has a mind of its own.
Hugs to you. Stay on here. Stay involved in support. But, relax. Be still in your mind. It will happen
.

Smile, it increases your face value.

I agree with Kathy.  Try to RELAX!!  Easier said than done, I know.  Are you taking your measurements?  If not, do it now, and do it at least monthly.  When I was in my losing phase and hit a stall, I ate Dominos pizza.  Afterwards I would lose at least 2-3 pounds overnight.  Sounds crazy, I know, but it was like my body needed the extra calories and fat to release the weight.  I did this around once a month.  And I LOVE pizza, so it kept me sane to eat something "normal" every once in a while.

Cris, breathe and try (yes try) to relax.  Stay off the scale for a week, give it a try really we all become slaves to the scale but getting away from it right now will make the emotional part much, much easier.

I'm don't exercise, never really did and I don't recommend not exercising BUT based on what I've seen others say you may need to switch that up too.  Hopefully Tawyna or one of the other exercise gurus can give you help there.

You aren't done, I promise you the weight will come off.  A 3 week stall is pretty common, I've seen it many times in the 4 years I've been on OH.  I had one myself from week 3 to week 6.  Can you imagine the shock and awe I felt on the first day of day 6 when OVERNIGHT the scale dropped 6 lbs; yes it's crazy but it unfortunately is part of the game.   Keep your head up and keep fighting.

Don't get any more frustrated.  Kathy is probably right...you need more calories and change up your exercise.  If you're not getting in enough calories for your wt. your body will fight to hold on to what it has!

According to dailyplate.com and the calculator, I need 1700 calories per day at 5'5" to lose 2 lbs. per week at 200 lbs.  You probably aren't getting in enough.

Three of the four ladies who answered you are "pros" at this journey - They've been through just about all of it!  They gave me the same advice when I hit the stall at about your stage...it drove me NUTZ!!!  I think my stall lasted 6-8 weeks.  I had to do the same thing to get it going again.  I'm about 18 months out and I find that when I get stuck, if I will eat a little more calorie-wise that it usually starts the process again.  I would say stop beating yourself up and driving yourself crazy worrying yourself sick.  When your body has lost as much weight as yours has, things may just be "settling in", try Laura's suggestion, you may be surprised that even if you are not losing lbs you may very well be losing inches.  I did!  and I know that MANY others have experienced the same thing.  Hang in there!  You'll be OK and the pounds will start coming back off again in a short while.

Hugs, Mari
