I took a quilting class many years ago and really enjoyed learning the craft that my grandmother had practiced for somany years.  I really regret not paying more attention.  The class was very informative, for quilting on the machine, but she'd done it all by hand.  Anyway, I have finished two tops she'd left me.  I still have two more to do, but it's a BIG job and I'm not up to it right now.  My excuse is that I'm waiting till m y daughter is older and can do it with me.

I do all mine by machine and then have them quilted by a long-arm quilter (by machine).  I love the great stitch patterns they have on those things, especially the computerized ones...OMG they are amazing and incredibly expensive!

I actually am having a relaxing morning today - have pandora.com going so tunes can be heard, ground wheat and am going to make something - not sure what LOL probably lunch rolls ( picture cin rolls but not sweet and with ham, cheese, green onions and mushroom) they are easy and fast and portable. oh and I am puttering on and off the computer

NO idea what today will bring - still waiting on that phone call telling me hubby is getting close to home for leave - bball practice - debating on driving to savannah to get steak from Sams - I know driivng 45 mins each way to buy it seems extreem but I am not great at picking steak (to many years of eating hamburger LOL) and I know what to buy at Sams that is always good and priced resonably (for good steak) - going to marrinate it in balsomic viniger and american honey (a sweet whiskey) - YUMMMMOOO

have beef jerkey to get onto the dehydrator, laundry to fold and still need to scrub the hallway where Rachel was helping me put away grocerys and bounced the glass bottle of balsomic viniger on the concret floor - ut oh was her comment followed by going and getting the bleach wipes

House is resonably tidy - we are dog sitting for a neighbor that had to go help with a family emergency and her dog's ONLY bad habit is eating shoes and cat food - so we picked up FAST when he came over yesterday LOL

teen "forgot" to clean the kitchen last night - debating waking him up or trying to figure out what he was doing instead - wii is my best guess - and just calmly telling him no wii the rest of the weekend.  I am working on going back to the love and logic parenting - logical consiquinces and mom doesn't yell just calmly tells you  - Oh man that sucks, oh well your choice here are your consiquences - yep it's wonderfully evil hehehe

remember WHY you had surgery everyone - I had mine to be HEALTHY -  I reached that goal now it's all about using what I learned on the way here to maintian it - water, vits, protien and movement - those are not changing nor going away - they are for the rest of my life - so how about you - are you taking care of WHY you had surgery - either losing wieght and getting healthyer or maintianing the weight loss and habits you worked so hard to learn

peace

Your roll;s sound great.  I've made your savory muffins several times and they are always a big hit.  I pretended to be you on Thursday and made protein muffins from scrratch.  You'd been proud.  No recipe, just whole wheat flour, whole oats, some ground flax, i ground up some nuts in the coffee grinder, added a egg, some baking soda, raisins, and pumpkin flavored devincin syrup and greek yogurt.  Very sweet to me...of course I dont do sugar so not everyone would think they were I'm sure.  Very filling.  I haven't run the reipe through my MasterCook yet, but they made a very filling breakfast for me and Alissa yesterday.

Good morning! I have been awake since 3, so I forsee a nap in my future for sure. We're going to leave soon for Bryan to run and then to Rise and Shine. Hopefully our newly employed diva will be there!
The plan last night was to go to dinner and a movie with my sister and her friends. The dinner was good, but the movie was sold out when we got there. So, we went to a small dive bar near Ridgemar- Circle M I believe was the name. It was a different experience but it was fun. We thought it was karoke night but it was a live band instead.

We've got to go get Chris's book for the after school book club he is joining this week. They're reading The Lightening Thief. I'm excited for him because I think he'll enjoy it. He has always loved reading.

Prayers continue for all in need- Eric and Meggie for healing, Jenny and Ken for strength to help them in that recovery.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Howdy, howdy!  I haven't been to sleep yet, so that's why I'm up.

The installers came a day early and put in the counter top in our bathroom.  Even with the old raggedy wallpaper behind it, it is GORGEOUS!!  Can't wait to get the project finished.

What do I do to relax?  I work puzzles, the harder the better.  Or, I open my graphics software and goof around with drawing pictures.

Hope everyone has a good Saturday and that your to-do list gets tended to with minimal hassle!

Good morning.  Ben and I are going to Houston to "The Dump" to look at furniture today.  If they don't have a cheap bed I like (frame/headboard only), we'll just run by Sam's Club and grab a $38 universal frame to get my mattress and box springs off the floor.  I can't get a whole new bedroom suite until Ben takes his bedroom furniture in August.  No place to put the stuff I have now until it can be moved into his room.

Congrats to Miss Liz on her new job and move in the Big D.

Prayers for Jenny and Eric and Meggie and Ken and all others who need them.

Have a great Saturday!

Karla

we have the universal frame - it actually needs a couple of zip ties to work best but other than that it is great
