My surgery anniversary....I almost forgot
I am one year and 2 days post op! I can't believe how time flies and how much I have changed. Dealing with my mom this week made me completely forget about my own accomplishments. I lost 110lbs in one year.
And now I am 16 weeks Pregnant! (Yes I know big oops and no, no before 18 months but I was on the pill I promise!!!)
We are thrilled and I have my own worries. I just lost all this weight and they want me to gain how much??? It is scary to hear those words when you have worked this hard. I haven't changed much in my eating habits because my Dr. said I was perfectly fine with the way I am eating, and that it was MUCH better for me and the baby to do it this way. That was some relief.
To all the newbies - keep your chin up and plu through. Though you will have times that you think "what in the world was I thinking" the results are worth every pain I had. I wouldnt change this for the world. I am thankful I was able to have the surgery and change my life. Who knew that surgery would change me so much.
Thank you to everyone for your support through all these months. Just being able to read this board has been a HUGE help. Your words, your struggles, your honesty has been the most uplifting thing ever.
Thank you EVERYONE!!

Awesome job and congrats on the pregnancy. You might want to consult with your WLS doc or nutritionist regarding their recommendations on weight gain in pregnancy. One of my OB-Gyns just told me yesterday she has a pt that had a RNY, lost 60 lbs, got pregnant and gained it all back. Obviously she wasn't very compliant to begin with but it still scared me to think it's possible. Sounds like you've got the right attitude and already seeking out the answers you need. I bet the "prenancy board" would also be a good resource.

My doc said she was only like 6 months post-op and had never taken her vitamins, etc. so she wasn't exactly the WLS poster child to begin with. Anyway, as you probably know I'm an L&D nurse so if you have any questions let me know-I know EVERYTHING 'bout birthin' babies!!
