Hi, my name's Kristina and I had my surgery done almost 3 weeks ago, on December 28th. I turned to obesityhelp because I feel like I'm struggling, and my doctor stressed getting a good support system. I don't feel like I'm getting that at home, so here I am. I've never been much of a forum person, but I've resolved to try a little harder. I do blog, though. I've written two so far, and if anyone would be willing to read and give a little feedback, it'd be greatly appreciated. I'm really excited to have ended up here and I can't wait to meet some people that I can talk to about what I'm going through.

Hi Kristina...Welcome to the TMB....

I had RNY on Dec 3rd. so I'm right there with ya...

Please feel free to ask questions, we have some very knowledgeable people on here to help us through our journey...I learn something new everyday....

You mentioned a support group, have you looked in your area for support groups?

OH offers online support groups that you can join...I have not done that yet...for no other reason than I just havent...

I will read your blog but im not sure that i have enough experience to form a educated opinion and i would hate to stear you wrong....lol

Welcome again and add me as a friend if you would like..

Hi!     Welcome to TMB!

This place a phenomenal! The folks here not only support every aspect of our lives they are very knowledgeable in everything we need to learn. I had my RNY in September and I would not have been as successful without the love and support from these folks!

Just tell us what you need!

data not applicableNice to meet you!  Name is Mari, I'm about 18 months out.  I know it says I live in Madison AL, moved here 10 months ago from TX and am about to scream until I get back home.  Besides all that, I was 3 hours away from my surgeon's office and support groups, so I turned to OH for support.  I also hunted around until I found a support group fairly close, it wasn't the best, but it worked somewhat. You really do need to find a support system, especially f you don't have one at home.  There are many people on the TMB who are from diverse backgrounds,  different types of surgery, different life experience and will willingly share their experience and knowledge with you.

Just jump on, ask any questions you may have, or share your experience, most times someone will respond with an answer relatively quickly. Unless it's a weekend, board is pretty dead then.  I post a Monday Morning Weigh In thread which you are welcome to check out.  I started it maybe 6 months post op and I have found that it helps keep me accountible...most times it works.

Sorry, I am babbling, will stop now...........

Hugs,  Mari

Kristina

welcome as the others have said - love the TX board - someday I will get to come back home and live in Tx agian, really I will :)

jump in on any and all of the threads that interest you - the wls express is one started every morning - kind of a coffee shop visit over the back fence kinda thing, Karla has a B2B which stands for back to basics, each month gets a diffenet name I believe this month is jumpstart Jan. the nigh****chman is posted at night - plus lots and lots of other posts.

if you have questions ASK them - someone will know, or will be able to find out - there is an incredible amount of knowledge on here -

we are like a family - we have good days and bad ones,  great peeps we proudly claim and those strange relitives no one ever REALLY invites over, we get together often - a fall cruise is in the works at the moment, big and little events if we can manage to get together we will.

so jump right in - you are welcome here as who you are - we are a very  varied group but fairly non judgmental on lifestyle issues - wls issues we may fuss a little more about esp if you have asked someone for accountablity but it's all done with love:)

peace

Hi Kristina, welcome to the Texas board (TMB).  I'm back in Louisiana and had surgery almost 5 years ago (proximal RNY).  Even though I'm no longer in Texas, the Texas board is my home and I love everyone here.

The group is amazing, if you ever get the chance to meet any of them in person I strongly recommend it.  Ask whatever questions you might have, most time someone has been there or done that and can share their experience.

Support is very important glad you are reaching to everyone.  Keep coming back, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Kristina, welcome to OH and the TMB (Texas Mssg Board). We are one big family here, and very supportive. Just hop your butt right in and chat. We will help you in any way we can... I will tell you the boards are sometimes slow though on the weekends. Some of us are on facebook as well... Add me if you'd like. Kimberly M. Fuller Grimes.

Good luck on your journey, any questions just ask!
