They are driving me nuts in the back of my throat...It's now been seven days since my tonsillectomy... It's funny, I was able to eat after two days or so, but now, I can only eat soup and liquids, because anything else, no matter how soft hurts like heck...

Anyone else have a tonsillectomy and can tell me when I can expect the scabs to come out of my throat? Eww.

Thanks in advance.

My oldest daughter (she's 16) had an emergency tonsillectomy last New Year's Eve.  She had the exact same issues and just hated to eat anything unless it slid down.  I think she was bothered with it for 2 1/2 to 3 weeks.  She drank a lot of hot (well, warm) chocolate which she swears helped "melt" that crap off.  Maybe you can try warm/hot tea if you like that.    If you still are on the antibiotics, be sure to take them all too.

Hope you feel better soon!  There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
