Hair highlights?

I was wondering if any of you had your hair highlighted after surgery. If so, how long did you wait. I want to cover my gray roots but I don't want to do it if it causes hair loss.

I had mine done twice...once right after surgery and again about 2 weeks ago. The loss isn't caused by anything you do TO your hair, it's all internal.

I did mine about a month after surgery...but that is just because that is when it was scheduled 3 months before.

I did mine about 3 months out and am about to have it done again. It won't hurt your hair or cause any more hair loss...whats going to fall out will...the end ...

My stylist said the same thing...not to worry too much...I'm 7 months out now and it has finally gone back to normal loss not crazy drain clogging nastyness.

Yeah, I was so worried about hair loss...ironically, more worried about hair loss than anything else. A couple of months ago, I realized that I was loosing a lot of hair. Thankfully, I had thick hair to begin with. The loss has subsided now, and you really can't tell that I lost any. I had my hair cut and highlighted today and my stylest said that he could see the little 2 inch hairs that are starting to grow back.

Thank you all!! That is what I needed to hear. Some have told me my hair would fall out in clumps if I colored or highlighted my hair. My hairstylist said she had never heard that. I knew you guys would know the answer. Thank for your advice and help!!

And it is not going to fall out in clumps...more than likely, the only one who is going to notice is you. It really isn't as bad as you imagine it will be.
