Good evening all.  What a day!

Yesterday, we were Mr and Mrs Nice Guy.  My son is having trouble financially and needs to get rid of one of his dogs.  A Lab/Boxer mix.  So we were nice enough to say we would take him until he found someone else.  But he had to keep looking.  They brought him over.  Last night, he refused to come in the house.  We had him running loose in our back yard.  Everytime we got near him he ran off.  So we decided he would have to stay outside.  This morning, I got home and let Pride out.  Him and Mack ran and ran and ran.  They did the same last night.  They got along so well.  I was actually contemplating keeping him.  Well, this morning when I got up early (for a dentist appointment), Mack was gone.  He dug under the fence and took off.  Who knows where to.  Well, I hope someone nice finds him.  He is wonderful with kids.

Then went to get my dentures refit.  One more appointment for that.

So, here I am at work with less than 4 hours of sleep.  Ho boy, this is gonna be fun.

Gotta go.

Pray for Jenn R. and Eric.  Please.

Just so you know, you need to TAKE YOUR VITAMINS  & SUPPLEMENTS and make sure you get your daily allotment of PROTEIN.

If you are new to the board, this link explains what the NIGHT WATCHMAN is (if you are interested).  Otherwise, just read on, you will probably figure it out anyway.

Hi George;

Long painful day. I left work before 5:15. I was exhausted. I'm home, changed, have eaten, am icing and just took a pain med.

Sorry about Mack running away. Is he microchipped?

I'll be around for a little bit, but probably really out of it soon.

Prayers for all who need them.
Blessings, Jennifer

Sorry you feel ouchie.  I took my two pain meds a bit ago but just hope I can get through until tomorrow with the four I have left!  YIKES!  Hubs forgot to go pick it up before the pharmacy closed.  Sigh....  Should be ok though.  Thankfully the Kroger pharmacy opens at like 9:00!!!

Hope you are better soon!

Hi George and all,
Having a productive week so far and trying to do my best learning a new sector of the healthcare industry. I believe I've been brought up to be the George Clooney role in "in the air" - I'm averaging one person a week being sent to the unemployment line. It really sucks but I am trying to be positive about it.  Luckily in this economy, there are many people eager to do a good job.

The kids are great - I got home in time to make a yummy meatloaf, mashed potatoes, carrots (no corn), appleauce - the WORKS! Even dessert! We then all sat down and watched Night at the Museum 2 -- AS A FAMILY!!!!  I'll cherish this one as they will be with their dad all weekend!

I'm hoping to work on my downstairs bathroom this weekend and make progress - I'm determined to have it remodeled before spring!!!

Evenin' George...
Sheesh, rough past 24 hours.  That damn catheter was ******g me off as it was becoming HORRIBLY painful.  I swear I was just waddling like a penguin so called Dr. L.'s office and he called me back.  Needless to say, last night I got to ditch that sucker.  Hallelujah!!!  This morning I had early post-op appt.  Right before left had a nasty incident using the *$(%!^# toilet seat riser (I swear, the things we do to ourselves) and ended up with two areas that ripped open.  Oh my freakin' gosh....hellish pain.  I immediately bursted into tears!  Finally got things under control and we headed off.  Paul was so afraid he would have to restitch the damn thing.  Luckily not but holy moses I was a hurtin' pup.  Dr. L. said it will actually lay back down just fine as it wasn't too taunt there.  Just felt worse than it looked I guess.  Sooo, back to the pain meds.  NO WAY would I want to be without somethin'.  YIKES!

Didn't get to tell you - yesterday my dad took Sarah to the bus stop where there was a little Shiz Tsu running loose.  The dog followed dad home.  GREAT!  He put her in our side yard and kept her from going into our big back yard so OUR dog wouldn't freak out.  We went around looking for signs but nothing.  I wasn't supposed to be driving but didn't feel bad and knew it was just in the neighborhood, then less than a couple miles away to get my SBUX for the night.  I had mom with me.  No luck with any signs so took off to SBUX.  Was sitting at the stop light waiting for light to change when "BAM"...got hit from behind.  I looked at mom and immediately said, "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!"  Nothing major and really, in my Suburban, didn't move me much at all.  I got out SLOOOOWLY (knowing Paul was gonna kick my a$$ for driving when I probably shouldn't have been) and looked at the back.  Hot diggity - the only damage was my GMC hitch cover was ever so slightly bent.  Not a scratch anywhere else to my car.  His????  Well, let's just say my bigger bumper TORE UP his little Ford Escort's entire front end.  He was sooo apologetic.  I knew what he was doing the SECOND he got out of his car...YEP...texting.  He even said it.  He was like, "I swear, I looked down for one second....".  I told him he was really lucky that he only had vehicle damage because texting while driving is a no-no.  No need to call the cops because I had no damage to speak of.  Scared the guy to death.  He said, "you know, I tell my daughter not to do it, now this".  I smiled and said, "well, hard lesson learned to practice whatcha preach".  Of course my dad wanted me to call the cops, etc.  Just couldn't see doing that.  I asked mom if she thought it was a hard "tap" and she said, "I really hardly even knew we were hit".  EXACTLY!  Needless to say, we went back home, I got my dad and let HIM drive me to SBUX!!!  Anyway, we opened our shed and let the little dog go in there for shelter.  She went right in there and curled up when my dad took a warm blanket in there for her.  Figured we'd take her to my vet to be microchipped today.  Paul and dad walked Sarah to the bus stop when a lady was putting up a sign.  Paul said, "what are you looking for"?  She said, "my Shiz Tsu"!  HALLELUJAH!!!  It was hers.  The lady was one of our newer neighbors who moved in well over a year ago but her and her husband really don't talk much and are never outside.  We never even knew they had a dog!  We do now.  She was soooo happy and grateful that we took her in.  She never even went around to her immediate neighbors to ask if anyone had seen her.  Sorry, but had that been OUR dog, I would have been knocking on doors in the immediate neighborhood asking if anyone had seen her.  She WAS microchipped though so she would have been reunited with her today anyway.  Definitely happy ending to that lost doggy story.  The meter reader apparently left the gate open.  Nice.

Ok, guess I'd better go.  Time to get the feet up and the liquids in.  He scanned the legs and said I'm full of fluid so definitely dehydrated.  Wonderful.  Schnitzel is getting his ears cropped tomorrow so he can't have breakfast.  He'll be more pissed about that than the surgery!  He's also getting microchipped!!!

Hope Mack finds his way back.  If he remembers how much fun he and Pride had running around, he'll be back!!!

TTYL....

What an adventurous day!

Is it mean of me to hope he does not find his way back?  I hope someone picked him up and kept him.  Sorry, just being honest.

Well, if he DOES find his way back, you can take him somewhere though where he can be matched up with the right family.  I know exactly what you meant because last night we contemplated just opening the gate and letting her go because we just are not going to handle two dogs.  Glad we didn't and thankfully it worked out but had it not, I would have been finding a place for her to be taken to today!!!
