Judy Update - Direct From Gay / Judy's New Address

 Hi Again All,

  I just got this update that Gay put out for all of Judy's friends and relatives:

First of all we have moved Judy to  the Bandera Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Brand new here in Bandera. Fancy name but it is still a nursing home. But everything is nice and new and clean.

Judy is still in the bed. She has been uncooperative with the therapist in the past but now that we have her closer I can spend more time there and of course Don can too. My office is less than ½ mile from Judy and Don is less than one mile also. Have Don starting to work with her to use weights on her right hand and arm to start trying to get some movement back. Her right side was definitely affected by the stroke. Physical therapist are also going to start her moving her middle torso and legs. We have got to get her out of that bed. Paul found a woman in Fort Worth who donated an oversized wheel chair and there is also the Gerry chair to get her in when she will be able to get out of the bed. We all know she needs socializing. We brought Schnitzel in a couple of days ago to see her momma. Schnitzel was scared of her and didn’t really want to be in the bed, but we made Judy hold him tight and he finally relaxed and stayed in the bed with her. It was nice to see her eyes light up.  I think Don brought in Wobbles the following day and what we are telling her, the more cooperative she becomes with the physical therapy; the more often she can have the dogs come and see her. So right now we have her on a mission. She still has the feeding tube in.  Again a few months ago, she pulled it out. She had to be taken back to the hospital to have it put back in. I talked to her at great length while in the hospital and told her she could not do that again. And she promised not to and again she is being more cooperative.

I will bring  to her  and read to her any correspondence anyone would like to send.
