Most posts I see have ppl saying they are not hungry right after surgery...

Ya'll I woke up hungry, asking for something to drink and they wouldnt let me till after my leak test...

I remember looking forward to the taste of the broth, it was salty though...

i came home hungry.

Here's the weird thing....When I drink water....I think im gonna starve to death....water makes me so dang hungry.....

When i eat i wait 30-60 minutes before i drink, cause i know as soon as i drink something im gonna be hungry again....

Im at a stall at 6 weeks post op, i was loosing a lb a day...then nothing for a week...

Of course i feel like this surgery is not gonna work for me, that im the only person in the 2000 ppl he has operated on that it wont work for...lol

I feel restriction, i measure my foods...i had some carbs last night and my bowel spasmed half the night...it was on the right side, it felt like where he mighta resected the bowel together...it was weird...anybody else ever feel that?

Tara, some people do wake up hungry.  Have you tried drinking something warm?  I find a hot drink works better for me.

The stall is normal, don't dwell on it keep focused on your plan and know that the loss will happen.  We aren't in a race to the finish line, enjoy the journey to good health.

As for carbs, yes sometimes when I eat to many of them my intestines spasm.  It happens sometimes with fat also (especially mayonaise).

Tara I swore I was starving all the time too then a very wise woman (Jenny R) told me something profound...If you're truly hungry anything will satisfy you, if it's head hunger only something specific will satisfy you.  It helped me to learn the difference.  And trust me some of it WAS real hunger but a lot of the time it was head hunger.  Hang in there, the stall will break and you'll be back losing soon.

Yep, agree with what everyone else has said - it's a phase that will pass.  Luckily for me, my hunger hasn't ever come back.  I'm never hungry and eat only because I know I have to.  Sometimes I get headaches from not eating.  I'll sit there and say, "oh, duh, probably have the headache because you haven't eaten in 12+ hours"...talk about feeling like you are wired wrong....

I like what Steph said though - use that analogy because it's definitely the truth - that head hunger vs TRUE hunger is just something you'll be able to decipher after a while.

Hang in there!!!
