American Idol Tonight

Who else is excited to see this season?  I've set it up to DVR the entire season in case I can'****ch one of them.

What about the Bachelor?  Who's watching it?

Oh, did you read that this is Simon's last year on Idol.  He is going to judge and produce his reality TV show X Factor that is popular in Britain.  It'll be on the Fox lineup next year.  What do you think will happen to AI?  Do you think him leaving AI will cause the ratings to drop?

I've got the DVR set for tonight and tomorrow night.  Going to meet up with Benderella tonight and wasn't sure I'd be home in time to catch it.  I guess I'll watch it in the morning while I wait on more job interviews! LOL

Haven't been watching the Bachelor - although he is the son of one of my non-WLS friends dentist.

Overall I think AI has about played its course, Simon or no Simon, IMO.

I'm confused about AI.  I'd read that Ellen Degeneres was juding, but now in all of the commercials I've not seen her once.  Is she juding or not?  Do you know?

Tawyna, yes she is suppose to be a judge.  I watched Ellen the day she announced she was a judge.  I'm not too enthused with that Kara chick, I didn't like her much last year.

Thanks Dana...didn't realize it was starting tonight.  I don't think it will make it after Simon leaves.  Too many people like his nastiness!

I can't wait to see Simon and Ellen  interact.  I thought Kara was about as effective as a wet noodle.

I agree Karla...when Simon leaves I will be surprised if the show survives beyond one season after his departure.

Hate to say it but I loathe the audition process and won'****ch AI until it goes to LA.  I just can't stand to see and listen to all the really crappy singers that they insult and humiliate (much less hurt my ears).  I also agree that AI will crash and burn when Cowell leaves.  I may pop in and out while watching NCIS tonight just to see how Ellen does.

Don'****ch the Bachelor......that and the bachelorette leave me COLD!!!!!

Wow. The first contestant in the pink tank top with her belly hanging out is really grossing me out. LOL.

Okay... Yes, Ellen is a judge but couldn't make the first few auditions, so there are guest judges filling in for her.

Yeah, I think Idol will definitely lose a majority of it's viewers without Simon, and of course Paula.

You KNOW I'll be watching as will Yvonne.  We always have to pick out our favorite guy to root for all season.  I'm looking forward to seeing Ellen's contribution-she'a has a very quick wit and apparently says she can't deal with people who disrespect the judges opinions.

As for next season...they better find another Simon if they intend to survive.  Can't stand Kara and I'll miss Paula cuz she was always the mother hen plus being a little stoned on national TV is always fun to watch, lol.

I don'****ch the bachelor either.  But I watch ALL the cooking competition shows as well as Project Runway, ANTM and Shear Genius.  I'm a reality tv junkie.

Oh, yes, I watch AI. I really hate to see Simon leave. I know a lot of people can't stand him, but I really like his honesty (in his opinion). I like Ellen, too. She will certainly bring a different view to the judging. Hard to say whether the show will survive without Simon. He will certainly be hard to replace. You sing like a 3yr old girl, dress like LaToya Jackson, and have a beard. Just had to put that one in here. He just said that!!!!!

And. . . I watch (DVR) the bachelor, too. I was really glad that Jake was chosen. The scandal that happened last night was almost too much for me to watch. That Rozalyn was (I'm trying to think of an appropriate word for her) a skank. Didn't hurt my feelings when she left. Looks like next week is going to bring some drama, too. Isn't that why we watch it????
