Just need to vent.....

Stephanie....my only response to this doctor would be to change doctors...I dont do well with doctors that dont have a 'good' bedside manner even in the office...and this one just crossed that line!!!

Norma, this is a doctor I work with-I'm a nurse.

Then I really do feel for any of his patients that might approach him about WLS.  He would not be the doctor to talk to about this type of surgery.

Thanks Steph!!!  I know I'm probably making this into more then I should... but I hate the implication that I have done this the easy way or somehow cheated so my weight loss doesn't count!!!  This has been the hardest thing I've ever done... Weigh****chers and Jenny Craig were a piece of cake compared to this!!!!  I know for the most part it is ignorance on her part....

I can not believe a DOCTOR said that to you.... you would have had to pry my hands off from around his neck!!!!  Again total ignorance from a doctor no less!!!!

And I do think there is some jealousy about my weight loss.... not that I hear it... but working with 100 women... it's there!!!!!

Oh I would have been pissed too!!!  The worst thing for WLS patients is maintaining the weight loss, and at least by you doing the weekly weigh in's this would help you with the accountability on a weekly schedule.  At 4.5 years out, I now stress out totally when I get on the scales, because it does not take much for those scales to inch up. 

May tomorrow be a better day for you!!

Thanks Norma!  I guess that's what I really want... just the support and accountability!!  They can have my $5 every week... it would be worth it!!!!  I'm not in it for the money!

I think they should structure it on two catorgories:

1. standard
2. WLS

So basically at the end of the cycle, you'd win all of your own money back.  Plus there may be someone else who's had WLS that no one knows about, and it would encourage others who may consider WLS.

I'm actually the leader of a TOPs weight-loss group and the only one who's had WLS.  I excluded myself from all local contests, and TOPs world-wide does have a separate category for WLS so that they don't compete directly with other members.  It's not as fun to go to Tops now since I can't win anything, and I used to win something at least if I lost two pounds in a month. 

I think it's sensitive because some may think you have an unfair advantage. 

I'm WAY the wrong person to ask about something like this cuz I'm SOOOO not nice.

In a week or two I'd casually approach "her" and say ever so sweetly...

 Thanks I needed that!!!!  I know you all think I'm so quiet and nice... but at work they all know me as the *****y one!!!  She knows she pissed me off and is on my **** list right now... so she is steering clear... I'm sure before it's all said and done... I will have a few more words for her!!!!

Paige, that is just wrong. It would serve her right for you to disband the contest and ban it for them excluding others...that's a major hr issue, the discrimination. But then again, it would suck to punish the others for one b*s issues. I would torture her and let her sweat. LOL. She really is stupid! You are the boss and she does that to you?
