The NIGH****CHMAN - Sunday 1/10

on 1/10/10 11:52 am - Grand Prairie, TX

Good evening all.  Finally back here.

Had an okay weekend.  My J E T S, Jets, Jets, Jets won.  While I was watching the Cowboys game with my son, my wife had gone home to let the dog out.  She called and said we have a problem.  She got to the house and water was coming out of the garage.  Not a good sign.  So, she came back to get me.  Apparently, the switch that controls the water going into the washing machine froze.  And the washing machine filled.  And since it was not running, it filled some more.  You get the picture.

Today was supposed to be a laid back day, ended up with a trip to the laundromat.  Then we decided to go visit Meggie.  She looks much better.  She will be in the hospital another 8-10 days.

Also called Jill today.  She recovering fine.

Just so you know, you need to TAKE YOUR VITAMINS  & SUPPLEMENTS and make sure you get your daily allotment of PROTEIN.

If you are new to the board, this link explains what the NIGHT WATCHMAN is (if you are interested).  Otherwise, just read on, you will probably figure it out anyway.

Meggie is in the hospital with abdominal pains again.  She will probably be requiring surgery.

Meggie's mother has breast cancer.  She has a large hematoma under it.  It is stage 1 cancer and they do not believe it has spread yet and don't think they will need to remove any lymph nodes. Radiation therapy will be everyday for 6-8 weeks.

Nina requests prayers for her cousin Troy who has been in and out of the hospital since Thanksgiving.  Also prayers for school enrollment.

Stephanie G.  - Her 88 year old mother, Sophie, has bladder cancer and needs to have surgery but failed her EKG.  Sending her to a cardiologist for a workup and surgery is postponed until she gets cardiac clearance.

Vivian requests prayers for the extra stress in her life due to her son and his girl friend living with her.

Hey George...
Thanks for checkin' in on me today.  Kinda felt like I was beat with a ball bat today.  Dad decided I needed to SIT at the dinner table tonight.  Ugh, riiight.  I sat there for about five minutes and that was it.  Just a bit too painful to sit like that.  I told Paul later I don't know why he thinks I need to SIT there because Dr. L. even said that actual SITTING will pull but people will take a bar stool and kind of lean up on that which won't hurt so much.  I guess dad figured sitting on a pillow would be ok.  HA.  I had plastic surgery, not hemorrhoids!

Now I'm sitting in my recliner listening to my dad SNORE!  UUUUGH!!!  He insists on sleeping on the couch which would be ok if he didn't snore.  I think he also has sleep apnea because I SWEAR he stops breathing for a mini second then wakes himself up.  Drives me nuts and literally keeps me up ALL night.  He has insisted on sleeping down here until this freakin' catheter is out which isn't until WEDNESDAY!!!  WAHHH!!!

Then, Paul left Schnitzel down here saying he'd set his alarm for an hour from 10:30 and then come get him.  HUH???  What a lazy turd.  Of course he is getting a crash course in puppy responsibility because he's been taking him upstairs at night so when the dog gets nuts at 3:00 to figure out where I'm at, he wakes Paul up and makes him come down.  Paul lets him out at 3:00 and then back up to bed.  Then Schnitzel is back up by 6:00-6:30 wanting to get out again.  He will get him up again but then is almost irked that he had to wake up early so leaves the dog down with us while he goes back upstairs to sleep!  I don't get that luxury so why should he!?!  Of course he said he'd be back "in an hour"...that was at 10:30.  Here it is 1 am and he's not been back down yet.  Schnitzel is sound asleep in his kennel though so it's ok!!!

I'd better try to catch a few zzz's IF I can!!!

It was good talking to you today.  I figured you've been tired.  It's a shame you have to do this to get some rest.  LOL.  I guess every time you do this Paul finds out a lot of what you do and appreciates you a little more, but soon after forgets.

I can feel for you on the water issue George... we got up Saturday morning to no HO****er.... we left the cold water dripping but didn't think the HO****er would be an issue.... apparently it froze right at the ho****er heater.... luckily we put a small space heater next to it for about an hour and it thawed out without any burst pipes....  now my DH has the hot and cold water both dripping in every sink in the house, LOL

The bad thing is we used to have a small heater in the garage that we kept there just for this purpose.  We have not had to use it for years and who knows where it is now.  Worst case, if the switch is broken, we will just do laundry at the laundromat.  No biggie.  And if it works, it works.  We discussed we might even do the laundromat regardless.
