GGGoodddd MMMMORRRNNINNNG- no I'm not doing a southern drawl, my teeth are chattering!!! We live in Texas people- there should be no "minus" in front of the temperature, including wind chills! Ice and snow- okay, but winds that feel minus 0- nope, that's where I draw the line.
So, having said that- what is your best plan to stay warm??? Have you changed any plans due to the cold weather?
Have a great day!

Good Morning Alissa and the rest of my TMB Family,

Lets try this again.  I had my post all done and it dissapeard.  Hate it when that happens.  I can not believe that you guys in Texas are getting 0 weather.  You are only supposed to have a couple of days with those temps and then warm all the rest of the time.  How crazy.  We are getting snow.  Just a couple of inches they said, but enough to delay Eric's school by 2 hours. He will be happy...I am just going to let him sleep.  Mark is off today as it is his birthday!  Happy Birthday to to Gina's husband Richard too.  We dont really have any plans for today.  I need to make Mark's birthday cake.  Chocolet with cream cheese frosting.  He would pick something I cant eat.  Oh well I will have a SF snickerdoodel.  Just as good if you ask me.  Tim and Jon will be here early evening.  Hope in time for dinner.  Then they are staying through the weekend.  Cant wait to see them.  Man it is really coming down outside.  Big HUGE flakes.  It better stop soon.  Ok guess that is all for now.  Need more coffee.  Prayers this morning for Eric and Jenny, and Meggi and Ken.  Also prayers for those unspoken.  Have a blessed day.  Love you guys.

BRRR.... I get more cold just listening to the news. lol. Didn't go to work Wed because I was sick. Yesterday I still wasn't 100 percent but was ready to go to work when Keller cancelled school. So I stayed home with Chris. Today I'll have lots to do, I'm sure!

My best defense for the cold is to layer. I plan on wearing long underwear and jeans today. I can always take the long underwear off when I get to work. I wore head to toe long underwear, sweater, pants, gloves, winter coat, seperate hat, and hood from the jacket when I ran to the grocery store. Kept is all on in the store as well as they don't believe in heat in stores.

Our main plan for this weekend is to take Chris for labs at 8am tomorrow and then finally get the decorations and tree put away. I know when our cleaning lady comes today she'll probably think we're crazy for not taking them down yet. lol. I hope Bryan can get his truck working again, and then we'll probably drive it to a dealership and get a new vehicle. He's been researching for a while now and it seems that the time is right given the age of his truck. There is one thing for sure I know- we will get the best vehicle for the best price because Bryan is and EXCELLENT researcher. Which is great!

Michelle-any word from the pain clinic? Are you snowed in?
Gina- how is Richard feeling?
Prayers continue for Meggie and Ken and Eric and Jenny.

Hope everyone has a great day today!

Hey Alissa,

No word from pain management clinic...I have called every day this week and left a message and no one has bothered to call me back.  They should have all the information they need as my doctor in Wichita Falls sent all my records to them on the 21st of last month.  Just makes me so mad.  We are not snowed in, in fact it has stopped snowing for now.  I hope it stays this way.  What kind of car does Bryan want to get?  He is like Mark *****searches for months before going and buying something.

Good Morning Train!

BRRRRRR is right!  I wore my hubby's thermal pj bottoms over my workout pants, gloves and hooded sweater. I parked as close to the door as I could and although I didn't run it was a very FAST walk to get inside the building.... LOL  Working out got the blood pumping so I'm not really chilly right now.. but if I get cold after while I have a long-sleeved shirt I keep here for when I get cold.... I'm getting a little revved up and excited about my new baby girl being born tomorrow... it's the first grandbaby on the SIL's side, so we'll have to be juggling for position with the other grandparents... but we can share.... I guess... sigh...

Prayers are going up for all that need them!

Good Morning!  It went well at the Comptrollers office.  If I can show them my federal tax returns for the years in question (1999 - 2004) and show that I had no other income, then they will forgive my debt!  I have all of them except 2001.  I may have to pay for that year.  Or they may forgive it all since I have every year but that one!  Who knows.  I'm going to drop by this afternoon after I get off work and see what they say.  Wish me luck!

Wow, it's cold outside.  My plans include wearing my really heavy coat and scarf and gloves and turning the heat in the car WAYYYYY up!!  I'll probably freeze at work all day, but then again, they might surprise me and actually turn on the heat in the plant!!  LOL!!

Well, speaking of getting to work, I guess I'd better get in and take a shower!  Y'all have a great day!  Love ya!!

Good morning all! I'm nice and warm..but, of course, I just got out of a too hot shower and the heat in the house is cranked up to about 300 degrees...I have a heavy coat, but it's hard to drive in, so I'm going to wear my usual "car coat" and walk really, really fast from bulding to car, etc. I have the blanket, gallon of water in the car, etc-all that stuff my weather guy, Greg Fields, told me to put in there...19 degrees...CRAP...

Happy Birthday to ELVIS and to TMB DHs Mark and Richard. My Richard is feeling better, and actually doing everything the doctor tells him to do...weird...

Don't know yet if I've been cleared to work for the agency yet (drug test, background check, etc). I was hoping to either work 8pm-8am tonight and tomorrow night or 8am-8pm Sat and Sun. She had told me it would probably be nights. Swinging chickens appreciated, please...

My heart is just breaking for our MEGGIE. I've known her a long time, and know how hard she worked pre-op, how long she had to wait for WLS, etc, and now she has had to have all this crap post op. It's just not fair for it to happen to just a GREAT person. Extra special prayers for her and Ken...

Big prayers too for JENNY R and our Eric--how's the week going?

Ok...warpaint time. My allergies are so jacked up today, I'll look like Alice Cooper before 10am, but somehow I still think I NEED to wear warpaint to work...the little patients have enough suffering in their lives without having to see me "natural"....

Hope everyone has a blessed, skinny day and can stay warm and safe!

I LOVE Y'ALL AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!!!

Gina,

(sigh) I am so blessed to know you.  Anyone that can have the compassion to work with terminally ill patients day in and day out has a true calling from God.

Warpaint or not, you are an angel to all who know you.

amen sistah............^5 (high 5) and whatever else there is out there.     We called in hospice nurse when my mom became incoheriant (she didn't want anyone there) and they absolutely held my aunt and me together.............If only I'd known BEFORE my mom died (or at least understood what I understood AFTER she died)  life would have been full of questions to her when she could still talk and function....................but  it is what it is................

  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.
