Sinus infection/cold meds?
Alrighty. So I'm now coming down with my first respiratory infection since my surgery. I looked at Sudafed online and saw that it uses acetomenaphin (spelling?), but it also uses other things, and I want to be sure I'm not doing anything to hurt my stomach or risk an ulcer.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what meds are okay to take, both night and day? Before, I would have used a combination of sudafed and nyquil.

Assuming RNY??? My doctor didn't recommend anything other then Tylenol products and I've stuck with that. They do have a cold/sinus formula that you can try - did the trick for me combined with Mucinex (but hard to swallow)...
Worst case - confirm with your surgeon's office just to be safe. Always a good bet! Hope you feel better soon.

I take Musinex D (you must get it behind the counter but not prescription needed). It is a large pill but I just break it in half. I works great on sinuses. Also as someone else recommended any Tylenol sinus product just check everything for sugar content especially being a newer WLS patient. Although I'm 7+ years out now, I do remember vividly taking Robitussin liquid not long after my surgery not thinking about the sugar content....MAN was I sick for about an hour until it passed. You have to learn my trial any error it seems or at least I did. Best of luck to you on your journey!!!
