Jenny...remember your daughter is a child...be okay with yourself.  If you think you need to lose some more weight, when your mind is ready you will.  Be at peace with where you are right now if you can.  You are going through so much I know having mixed feelings about your weight probably doesn't help!  Hang in there.

((((Jenny)))) it's hard for kiddos to grasp these type of things when other kids call people fat, chubby, etc.

I blow a gasket when I hear one of my boys say someone is fat.  OMFG, it's redunklous.  It breaks my heart to hear it about anyone.  My boys don't remember me being obese.  I about slapped Cutter across the face last week when he called Blane fat.

I always remind them that they need to look at people's kindness, it's what you are inside the outside packaging shouldn't matter.

Jenny, mother of 3 here.  I can't help but wonder if all she is really saying is that "my life is out of control and I want something/someone to be NORMAL."  And right now her Dad is not normal and she understands that she can't change that so instead she's decided she is going to change you.  Decided is a strong word, subconsciously she's worked this out, but she may not understand that.

I know what she said hurts.  She needs to understand that.  When our kids call their friends or classmates a name as parents we explain how words can hurt and we help them look for better ways to communicate.  I'd do the same thing here.  Be as objective as you can be.  Tell her your feelings are hurt and explain where your mind is at about your weight and that size does not equate health.  In the long run you'll be helping her to grasp satisfaction with her own body image as she grows up.

Thanks Steph and Paige for cranking this up Sun and today.  Feel free to any morning you get ready and I haven't posted yet.  Yesterday I slept until 7:01 and had to get ready and be at my MIL's for breakfast at 8:00...NO computer time at all...I survived!  Today I didn't wake up until after 7:00.

I will get down and dirty w/ this tomorrow when I go back to work.  Yesterday I had a little breakfast and promptly got bacon stuck and most of it came back up on the side of the road on the way to Humble.  Ben just loves when that happens!  I had popcorn at the movies and Pei Wei Lettuce wraps and then some Kung Pao Shrimp later.

Today's plan:
lots of liquids
protein coffee downed
leftover Pei Wei
haven't decided for dinner

I'll make a comment, Phyllis.  Although I love cottage cheese and it's good protein it isn't a filler food like dense meats.  Consider adding some turkey, ham, beef; something to your lunch are you'll more than likely be looking for something the nosh on before dinner.

Simple carbs can run through us quickly...anyone, not just post-ops...so it is better to look for a "whole" food alternative.  They can keep you full and feeling satisfied longer.  Specifically, I'm talking about the saltine and the applesauce.  Instead of a white, processed saltine, try wheat thins, triscuts or some other whole grain cracker.  And instead of applesauce, try an actual apple or any piece of fresh or frozen fruit. For lunch boxes, I love the little fruit cups and I find those at Dollar General and Big Lots.

And just adding my personal experience... I love fruit like strawberries and peaches and apples.  But they are just sweet enough that they trigger my hunger big time.  I know they are ultimately good for me with the fiber, but I really have to limit them.

phyllis,   another new option I have found are the Sara Lee Sandwich thins.  Good protein, very good fiber.  It's like a tortilla shaped hamburger bun.  It's just enough of a 'bread taste' to hold me over and hold the protein.

Becky, you're not alone on that.  Apples make me HUNGRY.  I tend to steer more for low glycemic index fruits like berries.  Frozen blueberries are yummy in oatmeal and fresh strawberries are great in greek yogurt with a little low sugar/hi fiber cereal give it some crunch.
