Back to Basics 2010-who's with us?
Last January 5th we started a monthy thread to support and encourage each other to reach our personal goals. It started as a 30 day challenge and morphed into a year long thread. Bless Karla's heart for starting it each and every morning. We would love to see it continue and I'd like to invite each of you to join us.
First off you need to set some goals. Each person's goals can be different depending on what YOU need. Some might be to lose weight, some might be to maintain, some might need to work on taking their vitamins, some might need to incorporate exercise into their daily routine, some might need ALL of the above. Once you decide what your goals are, post them here, make a copy and carry them with you or put them on your fridge so you can see them everyday.
Secondly, post to the daily thread as often as you can. Preferably everyday but if you can only make it once or twice a week then it's OK too.
Third-this thread is for support ONLY-no bashing or flaming allowed. We're not perfect and will have occasional slip-ups but we need to be here for each other. Accountability is the key to success. Together we can make it happen. So who's with us?

Thanks for posting this. It reminded me to go back to my 2009 goals (which I'd posted on my profile) and see where I ended up. I didn't do everything, but my priorities changed a lot through the year and I accomplished the things that were most important to me.
I have ideas of what I want for 2010, but I'm not ready to share until I have a strategy on how to make those things happen. I'll try to get through all of that this weekend.
Happy New Year. I know that everyone going to Loralea and Jon's tonight will have a wonderful time and I can't wait to see the pics tomorrow.
253 / 140 (below goal)
If I were lying, wouldn't my pants be on fire?!?
I haven't sat down to figure out anything - but I'm off tomorrow - so I'll be doing some planning and grocery shopping too.................I'll post more later when I have a "plan" in place.
- Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose. Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email. I'll answer it as soon as possible.

My goal is to get back to where I was most comfortable (about 15 pounds from where I am now - I prefer a 5 pound bounce). If I don't catch myself now then who's to say I won't allow another 15 on top of that, ya know? I can't and won't allow that to happen. My collarbones are too pretty to be swallowed back into enveloping fat.
Goal is to maintain my sanity and not allow food to comfort me this year. I chose the word THRIVE yesterday because I don't only want to survive the crap I have to go through next year but PROSPER while doing it. I can totally see my crazy head making crap excuses about eating this or that because I'm "stressed". Well guess what? Once Eric gets back to himself, he doesn't need a 400+ pound wife again. So I have to fight my head, Eric's cancer (and all the exhaustive and invasive treatment that entails that will officially make me more cracked - is it possible? Didn't think so but that maniacal laughs that keep escaping my lips are proving otherwise) to get my life back to any semblance of normalcy. Guess what. I'm gonna flippin' do it!!! Because there is no other option.

1. Get back to a weight range of 152 to 155. It's been about a year since I've seen it and I know I can.
2. Make sure meals are planned and I stay consistent.
3. Keep the liquids at a 100 oz volume.
4. Iron levels back up and consistent.
5. Learning balance in my eating.

forgiveness is giving up the hope that the past could be any different

4 - Spend 30 min in Bible reading every day
5 - Spend quality time cultivating deeper friendships
6 - Pay off my car and student loan
Set 2 (Pregnant)
1 - Maintain weight loss and stay within 10-15 lb weight gain through pregnancy
2- Exercise 3 times a week
3 - Log food in Fit Day daily
4 - Spend 30 min in Bible reading every day
5 - Save all extra $
6 - Spend quality time cultivating deeper friendships
I'm obviously hoping I have to go with set 2, but need to have the other set in mind to work towards while we are waiting. I really found these last couple of months that posting on this thread and knowing that I had to do it every (or nearly every) day helped me more mentally than just about anything, Even if not one other person reads what I write up here, I know that I have to be honest with myself and that helps keep me in line.
Thanks all!
