Tawyna, sounds like a great idea to me.  I know people have tons of recipes to share. I also know Karla wouldn't mind, she loves to cook and experiement in the kitchen.  Go for it.

Good morning.  Hard to believe it's less than 48 hours until 2010...seems just yesterday we were wondering if the whole world would shut down when the clock struck midnight on 2000 and it's been 10 years.  They have been good ones!

Ben and I went to The Woodlands yesterday.  I needed to get my gold charm bracelet to James Avery to have 3 charms put on...grabbed the red EMPTY JA box to take instead of the wooden one with the bracelet and 3 charms inside.  We were 30 or so miles away from home when I realized it.   We hit Garden Ridge, Best Buy, James Avery and Kay Jewelers at the mall, ate lunch at Brios, went to Michaels and Sams Club.  I wished I could have made arrangements to meet up with Paige and Donna, but with all the chores/shopping I had to do plus Ben the social grouch along plus the rain setting in, I figured I better save that for some time when he wasn't along.  Ben actually laid his seat back and took naps while I was in Garden Ridge and Michaels.

I bought Christmas stuff on sale, decorating stuff for my bedroom that's getting a overhaul and that's pretty much it.  In a little bit I'm heading to Lowe's to buy paint to match my new comforter set.  I moved my bed into the  living room last night and will push the other furniture to the middle today and get to painting.  I need to take some before and after pics.  I'm doing faux painting and some stenciling and hope it turns out like it is in my head!  I'm going from guacamole colored to a spa feel...lt. aqua and chocolate.

Prayers for our Meggie.  I hope she gets healing.

Have a great Wednesday.

Karla I want to redo my bedroom also.  Right now it's a sea foam kinda green and I want something and chocolate.  I saw a beautiful turquoise comforter that keeps calling my name.  I'm ready to personalize our house (we've been here 2 years) with what I like.  Blane is being a potooty he doesn't want to paint so I may just tackle it alone.

here is how I handle those issues with Rodney...pick out what you want, buy it and get dressed and ready to tackle the project...if Blane is like Rodney...he doesn't trust me with such "manly" tasks so hje comes in and takes over.  Works every time...I got a deck done this way, solar lights in the flower bed and ceramic tile in the bath. my next project is painting the living room and scraping my cieling....its got that old style popcorn stuff that just attracks dust bunnies and I want is gone.  anyway, i have the this taupe shade picked out with chocolate trim and I'm ready to buy it and get it started very soon. good luck on your project.  Turquoise sounds really pretty!!

We have the popcorn ceiling upstairs too.  The lady we bought the house from had already done the downstairs.  Karla did her's last year, if you need info I'm sure she'll share with you.  My understanding is it isn't hard to do just messy.

Please be careful with self removal of the popcorn stuff.  Some of it contains asbestos and if your ceiling has a certain 'percentage' you aren't supposed to remove it yourself.  Its save as long as you aren't scraping it off and making dust to breathe in.  My very good friends have it and they only reason they haven't removed it yet is because theirs does contain too much asbestos and its too pricey for them to hire a contractor right now (one income right now due to layoffs)

If you do it yourself...get filter masks....you will be thankful!  I know I was.

You can pick a weekend and we can get you going...I took a few before pics of guacamole wall and will take some as a do painting and faux finishing.  Lowe's had the fleur de lis stencil I ordered online to do part of the wall, so I'm to tackle that first.  You have to use spackle with it to give it depth and I'll let it dry overnight and then paint tomorrow.  I got my new comforter set from kinglinen.com  If you look mine's the Mason Aqua/chocolate set.  Sam's club had gorgeous chocolate sheets for $40 yesterday and they feel great after being washed and match my comforter perfectly.  I ordered curtains to go w/ comforter and they didn't ship them.  I found gorgeous throw rugs in aqua/choc. on Overstock.com for $24 each so I'm fixing to order them.  I plan on buying or making Limo a new bed to match the colors.  His old camouflage bed won't look too good in there.  I bought some new wall decorations and a Fleur de Lis door stop  (better than the men's cologne bottle when I had my slumber party) and plan on getting some  blank canvas and making 4 matching pics w/ leftover paints and stencils.  I also got a pretty metal rectangular container and aqua and chocolate colored hydrangeas and an aqua bird  to make a new flower arrangement.
