Getting sick/nauseous off of sf koolaid???
So obviously, I cannot just tolerate all water, all the time. I do however, switch between water and sugar free koolaid... I've been drinking it for months.... The last few days I've felt kind of nauseous while drinking it, but I didn't notice if I felt the same way with water...
I'm wondering if my body is getting sick and nauseous off of the sf koolaid, or is there a chance maybe it's because I'm drinking it ice cold? Maybe the temperature of it? I'm kinda confused... I hope I can find something I can drink if I have to stop drinking the sf koolaid. I HATE drinking real juice or anything else with calories now. LOL
Thanks for any input!!!

I don't know if RNYers get the same strange "sensitivies" as we DSers do sometimes to some smells and tastes following surgery, but if so, many of us develop a strange form of "hydrophobia" during those first few months out. Basically we can't sttand drinking tap water, not b/c of the temp but b/c of the fact that we seem to be able to actually smell and taste the chemicals in it (e.g. flouride, chlorine, etc.).
The solution is to only drink bottled water, either the natural spring source type or purified/distilled. The brand I seemed to be able to tolerate the best was Ozarka. You can always add a packet of Crystal Lite or some similar additive to a bottle, shake it up, and drink (or Kool-Aid, if you want to stay with that). My favorite thing to drink for the first few months out, and I never got tired of it, was sugar-free Hawaiian Punch. You get get it in those big gallon jugs at Wal-Mart for usually just $2 or so. It's also a good way to get in your electrolytes and even a bit of many fruits.

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "

Kim our bodies are strange, lol. I have problems with water and Crystal Light now. Even coffee lately gives me a queesy stomach sometimes. Every time I take my vits or other meds lately my tummy hurts for about 15 minutes. I haven't changed anything but my pouch is grumpy.

Warm stuff always goes down easier for me. If I try to drink things with too much ice, even plain water, in the mornings I get nauseated too. I usually get up and do a few ice cubes in a 3 c glass of water and let it set for an hr or two and then it goes down much easier.
It could be the sweetness of the sf koolaid too, but probably the temperature.

OK, I am the odd ball. I eat ice ALL DAY! I love it. I did sf Koolaid and Crystal light thru the first year but found that my belly started to not like anything that was grandular. I find that if I but the premade stuff or let it settle after making it with hot/ warm water overnight, it didn't give me the nauseated feeling.
Hope this helps.
ALSO, try a different flavor to twist it up a bit.
