One thing to make sure the doc does (and he/she probably will) is if the infection is serious (esp. an abscess) they will NOT want to take any chances on it possibly migrating through the blood vessles of the head up into the brain ..   yes, it can happen ..      The other thing is they want to make sure it doesn't travel to the heart where it can cause valve damage, particularly if you have ever had rheumatic fever before or any valve disorder ..  So, they will give you a large injection of antibiotics (arm or butt) to try to head that off ..  By then the pills should be able to keep up the fight and knock it out ..

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "

Here I am posting to you...yes that 'broad' from GA is posting on the TX board again....LOL

Dont let the tooth pain go tooo long without seeing a Dr.  My Dad did that one year at Thanksgiving and literally became physically SICK from the infection by Monday afterwards.

If it is that bad, call your Mom's dentist today...he might prescribe an antibiotic today and agree to see you tomorrow.  If he is out of town due to the holidays, go to an Emergency dentist...or 'Dentist in the box'...dont let it go forever before you see the dentist or Dr.  Could it possibly be a sinus infection brewing up???

When you can send me or Don a PM with your cell number...

Go to the drugstore and get Red Cross Toothdrops- awful tasting but they work! I was out of town once w an accessed tooth and dentist told me to go get and it worked wonders. You might call walgreens and cvs to check if they have them- they can be hard to find.

Another homemade remedy is to put a whole clove 'between your cheek and gum'. Or clove oil if you have it. The oil is an active ingredient in most of the over the counter tooth pain meds.

Not trying to freak you out but any other weird symptoms to go along with the tooth pain? I learned in my emt class that sometimes a severe tooth pain could be a sign of heart issues.

I would like to help you but you cant fix stupid.
