DON'T LAUGH!!  I've eaten them maybe twice in my whole life!!! I'd like to get a good recipe for it.  I am sure it's pretty simple and nothing to it but I TRUST your recipes!!!

Thanks in advance!!

Blessings,

Nina

lol  I had no idea there was an actual recipe.  I do grated cheese, sausage and bisquick together till it's all sticky then roll into balls.  My kids like when I roll it up around an olive for a suprise filling.  I bake them in the oven on 375 for maybe 20 minutes.  I hope someone else posts.  I'll be interested to get some actual measurements.

Ok thats funny~~

i have also made these for years and just kinda squished them together. but here is teh OFFICIAL one from the Bisquick site (where mine started)

3 cups Original Bisquick® mix
1 pound bulk pork sausage
4 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (16 ounces)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup milk

Barbecue sauce or chili sauce, if desired
. Heat oven to 350ºF. Lightly grease bottom and sides of jelly roll pan, 15 1/2x10 1/2x2x1 inch.
2. Stir together all ingredients, using hands or spoon. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls. Place in pan.
3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until brown. Immediately remove from pan. Serve warm with sauce for dipping.

see how easy? i dont use that much milk tho.. just start with 1T and mix till everything sticks together.  These can be made ahead of time and frozen in ziplocks (i have done this) then pop them out to cook.

Mmm that sounds good!! But, I'd have to say I am partial to Owen's Country Sausage.  My favorite uncle worked there for 34 years.   Love your new avatar!!   Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Do you have any idea why Owens closed their Family Restaurants, Meximelt?   Could you ask your uncle for me?   I'm curious, as they had GREAT country food there ..  I was so sad (and totally shocked) when the one here in Mesquite just suddenlly shut down .    It was a real popular place for breakfast.      I think they made the best meatloaf I ever ate ...

Hi Pablo,

Bob Evans bought out Owens and after that the restaurants were kaput.  There are existing restaurants but under the name Bob Evans.  They are Ohio based.  In fact my husband knows someone who has worked for that outfit for about 25 + years.

The first and only time I ever went to an Owens Restaurant was when there was one located on Midway at LBJ.  We got there and were watiing to be seated.  Mind you we were there first.  4 other families came in aftewards and were immediately seated.  I asked the hostess when would we be seated and she said it would be another 20 minutes, I was pissed and left.

I did call corporate and raised a big stink about it.  I mentioned my uncle worked for Owens, which he did at the time and that my aunt was the Owen's family maid, I got some gift certificates in the mail but when I received them, I cut them up and sent them back and told them to... well... you can imagine.

Thanks for the recipe too by the way!!!

Have a great Sunday Pablo!

Blessings,

Nina
