It's happening....
I've been paying special attention to my hairbrush, the shower drain, and even my pillow. Nothing, nada. Could it be true? Could I be one of the few that will avoid this phenomenon? I've been very diligent about getting all my protein, just in case that was one of the secrets. But, alas.....I have joined the ranks of the Thinning Scalps. The shower drain didn't reveal very much this morning but there were quite a few strands stretching between my fingers as I applied my hair stuff this morning. To avoid any additonal stress I skipped the blow dryer and let it dry au natural. I had lunch with my Sewing Sisters today. As I got out of the car I brushed a few strands off my shirt and didn't think TOO much about it but just a few minutes later one of the Sisters asked me if I'd had my hair cut this morning, "they should have brushed you off, you've got hair all over you"!!!
I swear...if it gets thin enough to see my scalp on top and/or in the front, I'm gonna shave it all off! I have do rags out the wazoo, I make them for a living! And cutesy hats are popular, even if you are a morte than middle aged arthritic old lady! Besides, for some reason ever since I was a kid I've wanted to shave my head. Nows my chance!!!
Oh Dee I so understand. I like you thought I was gonna be one of the lucky ones. Not a strand one...Then one morning (about a month ago) as I showered there it was all over. After I was done with the shower it looked like a big spider covering the drain. Uggghhhh.
I have done everything I could do to get in all my vits and protein in the hopes it would not happen; but well I guess it is just part of the process.
I have always had hair down to my waist and very thick; but I had always wonted to have a short spiky do. Soooo right before surgery I had over 22" cut off and went for the spiky do. I guess at least it is still thick; but I'm not sure for how much longer. I may have to get one of those do rags that you make.
Keep us updated on what your out come is & good luck.
Good Morning Dee,
I know the feeling of losing your hair. Mine started falling out at about 2 months after surgery. I started taking Biotin, and I swear by it. To this day I take one in the morning and one at night...its great for the hair and the nails. You can get it at any drug store or Walmart carries it as well. Hope this helps a little. Hugs. Michelle
