Baylor College of Medicine Employees....come in!

I just got let from UT Health Science Center, but I was fine with it because I was already about to turn in my 2 wks notice bc I was offered a position at BCM.

This however has thrown the whole bypass surgery thing out the window....which is upsetting because I just needed one more month of weight mgmt and then a submittal to the insurance co.

I was wondering if anyone worked at BCM and could tell me if they're health insurance covers the surgery and what the requiements are.

My hubby works at Baylor Health Care System, not sure if this is connected to BCM or not, but here is what I had to do in case it is:

3 months of supervised weight loss (4 visits with dietician)
psychiatrists visit
consult w/surgeon
5 year medical history of obesity

I was approved within a week of submitting to AETNA and since I had met my deductibles for the year already it was covered 100%!

Again, not sure this is the same as BCM, but if it is you should be able to use the same documentation that you had while at UT and just continue on with BCM for a month.
