Tis the Season Tuesday

Good morning all! Not much new in my world...work...eat...sleep...rinse...repeat...

PRAISE GOD for ERIC's surgery report yesterday. Praying now for his recovery, that it won't be too painful. Extra special ((hugs)) for JENNY and RHI RHI!

My DH went back to doc yesterday-still following up from the Thanksgiving week hospital thing. He's got internal bleeding somewhere-also having some weird blood sugars. I'm afraid I didn't hide that rat poison as well I thought I did...

My boss is taking the "management team" to lunch today, as his gift to us. I wish I could figure out a nice way to ask him to let me skip lunch and him just give me the money instead..lol...guess that would be rude....

How do I relax?? I LOVE to read-Dean Koontz and Stephen King are my faves, but I have to be careful, cuz I'll lose track of time and get NOTHING else done. When stressed at work, I "zone out" for  few minutes, and read my Bible-I keep one on my desk-it's funny how people won't inyerrupt you when you're reading your Bible, but will bother you a million times when you're working on your regular stuff.

Better get dressed, pack vitamins, etc. Even when my eating is EVIL. I DO take my vitamins (thanks, DANA, for putting the FEAR in me. all those years ago!)

Good morning.  I get to stay home today...yeah!  I need to clean house so will work on that.  My floor elf is home so he will have to do sweeping, vacuuming and mopping and boy does it need it.  I did clean under the fridge and behind the TV stand/bookcase last night.  Our old living room TV turned to black and white so I bought a new 42" lcd flat screen...I like it!  Directv will come hook up my HD DVR receiver tomorrow morning.  They charge $200 and I called and said I was going to switch to Dish and amazingly enough they said I could have it for free.  It won't cost any extra per month because we already pay for HD and DVR for other receivers.

Steph and Jodie sent their mice to my house.  I started smelling something and Ben kept saying he didn't.  He finally admitted he was ignoring me because he didn't want to know what it was.  I moved the fridge and found a tiny dead mouse.  I had to get it out...Ben was Skeered of it!  Now we have to do some preventative mouse stuff...Jodie's radar thing and some steel wool behind fridge..a piece of shoe moulding is gone so I'm sure it got in the wall and in there...perhaps some traps in attic to make sure they're not up there!  Haven't seen any...don't know why they wanted to come for a visit.
Maybe an outside cat would be a good thing!

Ben has to go get bloodwork today.  Dermatologist wants to start him on Accutane for his face...blood work has to be done every month.  I think it's only for 4-5 months and I asked a lot of questions...I guess I'll trust the dr.

hmm, how do I relax... I have broken down and discovered wine! yep, me!  the beer drinker.  My realtor buddy brought us an awesome bottle to share during the closing and it was so good.  Not sweet. Couldn't find the Hayman Hill anywhere so I got another highly recommended one called Menage a trois... very nice!  and fun!!

Today is work till 5 then vaca.. till the new year.  Dear lord, never thougth it would get here.  Emm has oral surgery this morning and my parents (those wonderful people) will be here to take her home to Shiner town to recover.  I will head out tomorrow after my last surgeon visit before he closes his practice.. and the dreaded Mammo at noon.  Wish that wasn't so strongly suggested by my doctor.  But I need to know one way or the other.

So happy to hear Eric's surgery went well.  Sending prayers for them as well as our Richard (Gina's) and please keep Emm in your thoughts and prayers this morning.

Good morning everyone,

I'm so enjoying my time with my son.  Yesterday, I had to take my car in for the check engine light.  I got a new gas cap and will need to have the spark plugs replaced and other work done to the tune of $300.  UGH.  For now, the gas cap is doing the job.  Took Josh to get him some new jeans.  His old ones were too short and too tight.  He's gained 15 lbs since he left for boot camp.  My boy weighs 121 now.  I was floored when he told me that.  Considering he left at 106, that's monumental.  He actually got size 30 waist.  woohoo.  Then my dad took us to eat, Britt was with us too and then Britt took us to a movie.  It was just a great day.  Now I'm letting Josh sleep in but won't let him sleep too long.  I don't want to mess up his sleep schedule too much while he's here.  LOL

My favorite relaxation tricks are to just sit and close my eyes, read, or cuddle with Matt.  Even taking a walk does the trick sometimes.  Just depends on my mood and whats bothering me at the time.  What I really what is a jacuzzi tub to take nice baths in so that's on my wish list for our next home.

Good morning Train Riders!  Ok, I'm working hard not to get freaked out by work stuff.  I logged in to my email just to clear out the junk and found an email that my time sheet had been deleted for this pay period.  So I logged in the work computer to see what was going on, and yes they deleted my time sheet and sent out a notification after I left work on Friday.  Due to the holiday "vacation" our final time sheet had to be submitted by last Friday.  So it appears that my next check will be short 3 days.  UGH, Merry Christmas!  I know I'll be able to get it fixed, I just didn't need to see that today.

Oh well, onto things I can control.  I'm going to spend time cleaning my house from top to bottom today.  Weird how I'm motivated to clean right before I leave town.  This afternoon I've got my 1 year follow up with my plastic surgeon.  That should definitely be a good appointment.

Yesterday I went to North Park to see the Rockettes, turned out they were just signing autographs and taking pictures, no performance.  It all turned out good though, we wandered around the mall, shopped some (window shopping for me), and had a great afternoon.
