First 100 lbs. (XPost)

My consultation with my surgeon was at the end of July this year. In the 2 1/2 months before surgery I lost 50 lbs. It wasn't easy, but it was a fight for my life. According to the scales Sunday, I have lost another 50 lbs. My first 100 lbs. gone forever! I still have quite a bit to go. I'm not even half way to my goal. I still feel fat. Of course, I am. I didn't expect for this to happen over night. This is a journey, not a quick trip to the park.

The rewards of what I have accomplished so far have been flooding in. I feel so much better these days. I'm off my blood pressure meds that (I have been on since my teens). I'm able to walk much farther and do so much more. I'm not gasping for breath during normal everyday activities. My clothes are getting too large. My husband noticed that our arms go further around each other when we hug. I'm able and more willing to join in and enjoy activities with family and friends. I've been to a company party with my husband and actually enjoyed it and felt good about myself. I'll be able to wear my wedding ring again soon...

I'm so glad I finally got over my fears and took advantage of this opportunity to get my life back. I am so grateful to have the opportunity in the first place and the wonderful support I've been getting from my family, friends, and here on OH. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. Enjoy the rewards of good health this season. We've all worked hard for it.
