Hello all.. My name is Angie. I am new here. Well kinda. I have been lurking for a while. I completed my 6 months dr monitored program, and insurance has approved me and now it is the waiting game.

My surgery is set for 12/29/09.  My pre op visit is this week 12/23.

I am a tad freaked out. It is that waiting playing tricks on me. All I can do is imagine the worst. I have been having horrible dreams. I am really just ready for this to be over and start my new way of life.

Welcome!  I think you will find that what you are feeling is pretty normal.  I hope all goes well and you are recovering in no time at all!  I am 6 months out and am loving the journey because everyday is new and so different.  You are definitely in for a wild ride.
Wishing you well and I can't wait to hear an update!

I'm a tad freaked out too, mine is tomorrow. You'll do alright! If you start thinking about all the positive outcomes in 3-6 months and how your life is going to change... it helps. I'm focusing on my goals to keep my mind off the anxiety.

I too am having surgery tomorrow.  It is the waiting that is the worst.  I was perfectly fine until Friday and reality hit.  I became sick at my stomach, couldn't sleep and am a nervous wreck.  I will be so glad when 7:30 gets here.  Everyone on OH has told me that this is normal.  I know that what I am about to do is best for me and my family.  I think Dr.'s should just call you the morning of your surgery and tell you to show up. lol!!  Good luck on your journey.  I am sure all will go well for both of us.  Just think, many have come before us!!

Angie, the freakout mode happens to many.  You picked your surgeon because you had trust and belief in his skills.  Find some relaxing things to do!

The ride is amazing.......if you have any questions ASK.
