Good afternoon all.  Winter is officially here.  This will be the shortest day of the year.  And I have two work days until our family Christmas celebration.  We are all getting together at Penny's for sandwiches and to open presents.  Oleta may not be there, but that is understandable.    Her mother is in a lot of pain today.  Oleta is getting to the point of knowing what is next.  She said today she is not even taking it day by day any more, just take it as it comes.

Received my first tax form in the mail Saturday.  One down, four to go and then I can file.  I will probably file early this year.  I normally wait awhile, but this year, I can sure use the money.

Not much else going on in my world.  How about yours?

Just so you know, you need to TAKE YOUR VITAMINS  & SUPPLEMENTS and make sure you get your daily allotment of PROTEIN.

If you are new to the board, this link explains what the NIGHT WATCHMAN is (if you are interested).  Otherwise, just read on, you will probably figure it out anyway.

Not much going on here, just enjoying this glorious sunshine. THIS is the weather I wish we had 6 month of the year....High's in the 60's, clear and sunny with lows at night in the 40's....just perfect!

We bought a new upright freezer the other day so I've been slowly adding things to it. It's the first time in years I've had enough freezer space to actually plan to have leftovers so I'm having to learn which food take freezing well. Plus, in the past we really didn't leave many leftovers!

DH only has to work 3 days this week and will have 4 days off. We're trying to decide if we want to take a road trip or stay home. Don't really have a destination in mind, maybe out towards the Hill Country. We just enjoy the driving together. We sing along....badly.... to CD's and the radio, or I'll read to him. Whatever...we always have a good time.

I got back on the treadmill today. I have GOT to get this excercise thing going! I still can't stand the gym and only go there for water aerobics. If my knees don't get better soon I'm going to have to see a 'knee doctor'. I'm afraid that 350lbs did major damage to my knees that weight loss isn't going to help.

Just so you know, George....I'm great on the vitamins!

If you do end up owing taxes, I would immediately change my deductions.  Right now on my second job, I have them take out a flat 15%.  If your work will not do that, they will let you take out an extra X amount in addition to your normal.  For years I had them take out an extra $15 from each paycheck at both jobs.  Always got money back when I did that.

Hey there....
Hopping on a tad earlier today.  Was supposed to have lunch with a friend of mine but she was swamped at work so I told her no biggy, we can postpone until later.  V had one of her friends come over (she's still here) which is nice as they don't get to see each other much now that they are out of Jr. High.  Where she lives to where we live, there happens to be the division line as to which high school they go to so they didn't end up going to the same place but they talk on the phone and "see" each other on FB all the time.

Need to make all my holiday cookies and have just been putting it off because I don't want it sitting around.  Not much time left so I'd best get my butt in gear!

Today was the first day all three girls were home and man has it started out a doosey.  This one arguing with that one, that one taking "comfort items" away from the other one, etc.  It has definitely been a "wear the referee stripes" day for me.  Sheeesh!  I haven't had to holler at them this much in a LONG time.  I told them they'd best work out their issues with one another right now because I am NOT going to put up with them being crapper towards each other and me having to scream on a daily basis.  Even while V had her friend here, I got on HER because of the lack of responsibility she has shown with the dog again.  Today that pooch has been jumping up on even ME, biting at my pant legs, sleeves, whatever he can sink his teeth into.  Usually that means he is horribly bored and needs to be exercised.  V has not learned even yet that there is a huge difference between just a 20-30 min. WALK and an exhausting round of EXERCISE...running in the yard, frisbee, etc.  If his mind is tired, he'll lay down and relax.  Sooo, she and her friend took Schnitzel on a fairly long walk but she will still have to go out running with him later on.

Have to go see Dr. LoMonaco tomorrow for a pre-op appt.  Geez, it is creeping up fast!  Was supposed to be Monday the 4th but he had to move it to the 7th so that gives me a few more days.

OH....had to make one final run to the post office today.  I have some of those flat rate shipping boxes so as much as I want to put in there up to 70 lbs. for a flat rate.  Of course the lines at the post office are absolutely horrible and I REFUSE to pay that bumped up fee for some "we ship everything" postal store to do it so thought I'd have to just bite the bullet and go stand in line.  I went onto the post office's website and found the "Click and Print" feature.  OMG, I am SOOO happy for that!!!  I filled out the forms online, paid for the postage and printed out a shipping label.  After I affixed it to the box, my postman was across the street so I asked him if I could just give it to him and he said, "yep, that's it"!  LOVE IT!  AAAAND, the rate by doing it that way is CHEAPER!!!  I think instead of $10.95/11.95 medium box, I only paid something like $9.80.  I just printed the label and taped it to the box.  How easy was that!!!

Ok, hearing more arguing so I'd best get moving......

You should see Pride when I get home in the morning.  I open the door to let him out in the back yard.  He looks at me, then looks at the door, then looks at me, then the door.  Until I say "Wanna run?"  Then the tail goes crazy.  I take him out for about 5-10 minutes, with him running full pace the whole time.  Every time I walk towards him he takes off running.  But all I have to do is put my hand out at my side and he knows it is time to come over and get petted.

Just think, this was just the first day of Christmas Vacation for the kids.  Lots more fun to come.

I spent part of yesterday making my Ava-safe Chex mix (no nuts) and some peanut brittle for my son.  Gotta make more up Wednesday, before cooking the turkey.

Evening George,

Going to do a quick fly by...  sorry I haven't posted much lately.  I'm working 10-12 hrs at the new job, then coming home to work the contract job, I'm just tired...ready for the holiday break.

Talked to my Mom tonight, doesn't look like she will be here for Xmas due to the the storms getting ready to hit the midwest again.  I sure don't want to have to worry about her and brother driving through the ice, would rather they wait.  Now I have to worry about DD going to Amarillo with her dad.  So far the forecast looks ok for that area, I'm sure he isn'****ching it.....

Prayers going out tonight for all of the spoken and unspoken requests.  Special prayers for you and your family, Jenny and Eric, and all of those hurting for any reason tonight.  Holidays are tough for all that have lost someone, whether recent or in the past, prayer for all.

Blessings to all,
Avis

George, can you please add me to the list? I had an abnormal pap and have to have a procedure for more testing to rule out cancer. I'm sure I'm probably fine and it's routine but I can't help being scared.

Thanks
