very mixed emotions-am I a bad person??
If you read this, read it fully before passing judgement please.
Last night I learned a teacher I had is HS had died suddenly in a riscky cardiac surgery. I am not upset. Instead I am glad he cannot inflict himself on others anymore. He was a perverted predator who tried to woo and press his way into young vulnerable girls pants! He was great friends of the mucky mucks at the school so if you complained who were they going to believe? Their respected and venerated friend or a chubby girl who was a bit lost and very emotional!! So I and others kept our mouths shut. Recently we opened up to our group about it and none seemed to be too suprised!
What really gets me is some other the other girls that this happened to are like "oh he was such a great man and a wonderful mentor" and " he believed in me when no one else would". I have only asked about where I could write condolences to his wife ( she was a wonderful if not clueless woman)!
Am I a bad person for feeling the way I do? Am I wrong to be apalled at some of the reactions these people are having?? Any insight would be helpful!

I think your feelings are justified and I'm sure I would feel the same way. As a teacher, I get infuriated just hearing stories about teachers taking advantage of students.

One of my therapist told me to go dance, stomp, spit or whatever on my predators grave when he died.....
He was a family friend, my sister married his son and had kids by him, so he was everywhere i turned, but i made up my mind i would never speak to this man ever again...I didnt hafta be his friend.....
this man's children are on my FB, i love them dearly....he raped his youngest daughter when she was like 11 y/o....i moved away so distance was easy....
the hard thing is seeing his pics on there profiles and everyone saying all these wonderful things about him.....
I may need a dance soon......

You are certainly not a bad person for feeling the way you do Meggie. You have every right to feel that way. Ones who think it's okay are in the wrong and in denial. That happens too often with teachers/administrators unfortunately. There's rotten apples in every kind of basket.

Aw, Megs - the simple fact that you are worried about it shows you are not a bad person.
I think we all have someone at some point in our lives that reeks havoc. For me, it is my mother's 2nd husband. The day that man dies I will feel sorry for his family, but rejoice in the fact that his no good, drunken, abusive self is banished from the Earth forever.
If what you're feeling makes you a bad person - make room 'cuz I'll need to sit by you in the bad girls room!
