The NIGH****CHMAN - Tuesday 12/15
Hey there George....
Another psycho-crazy day. Trying to get WAY too much stuff done in one day's time. Tried getting some presents wrapped and under the tree today. Had to put the puppy in his kennel while I did so though as there was NO way I was getting that done with him out and about. We finally found a way to keep him out of the tree - the trifold fireplace screens. They look nice and are see-through so you can still see all the presents, the tree, lights, etc. Keeps the girls from digging around through there too! hehehe...
Booked our hotel for San Antonio this weekend. Just Sat. night. Our girls' high school football team beat New Braunfels this past weekend to advance for a chance at a 3-peat win for the state title. Have to play Abeline. They are tough so our guys had best get their best game face on for this next game. Offensive line was horrible letting our poor QB get sacked like three times in a row. I know the offensive line coach as he was one of Heather's teachers last year - yowza....those poor boys probably got their hinnies chewed out! I got a hotel that accepts pets and is only about a mile and a half from the Alamodome. Have no idea how nice/safe the area is over there so even though we are close, we will be driving. OF COURSE.....parking is a whopper $10. I had to pick up the tickets here at school tonight in order to save us a few bucks. Pre-sales at school are $12 for adults and $7 for students. At the gate it was something like $18 and $15!!! The booster club had all their shirts, game programs, etc. out so I was like, "what's the deal, why programs now"? One of the dad's said, "the Alamodome won't let us sell them on site - not even from the booster clubs so all t-shirts or programs that we usually sell at the games are not allowed to be sold there." Seems like a stingy thing for them to do. I mean geez oh Pete, it's HIGH SCHOOL!!! Oh well. I got my program ahead of time so just need to remember to bring it. The girls wanted to look through it so I will put it back out in my car tomorrow as we'll for sure be bringing my Suburban.
Ok, better hit it...

Hi George,
Thanks for continuing to pray for me.
I am starting to do and feel better but still not terrific. I tire easily, which is expected. The good news (I'm trying to focus on just the positive) is that some of the swelling has gone down....still swollen but not gigantic. The area is still very very sore and given the location it makes it difficult to sit, stand or walk for more than 30 mins at a time but I'm having a much easier time getting around on my own.
I'm really starting to believe that the prayers are helping and I'm trying to be better about thanking God for his help each day. I have truly lost my faith in recent years but have been trying to regain it recently.
Thanks for all your kindness!!!!!!!!
Ruth

Hello Watchman.
I'm a newbie to this board and am up in the middle of the night for some unknown reason and thought I'd post. I like your post. You must be the one who keeps track of what's going on with everyone and since you are called the "nigh****chman" I assume you work at night. This is about as good as my brain gets right now 2 or 3 days out of surgery.
Sipping on my water or broth or protein drink. Wishing my abdomine would quit hurting. Actually, I'm doing very well. Right where I should be.
Take care. God Bless Everyone on your list.
Ann

You're pretty quick on the uptake. LOL.
I work overnight and about 18 months ago or so, I started this thread. Just to help keep track of prayer requests.
Welcome to the TMB. Lots of good folks here, if you need help. Just remember, we are not doctors, but we can tell you of our experience.
I have this thread normally 6 days a week (I take off Saturdays). Feel free to just stop in and say hi any time.
Also, look for the WLS Express thread daily. Just a hello, this is what I am doing today type thread. You can learn a lot about our people and we can learn about you.
