GOOD MORNING!!! Do you have a real tree? What tops your tree? What is your favorite ornament? And, what childhood traditions did you have regarding decorating the tree?

Good Morning Train!

WOOOOHOOO for Tuesday!  I'm up and pacing the floor (well at least in my mind I am) because today's supposed to be my turn on the witness stand... I still don't know if it will be this morning or this afternoon.... keep us in your prayers please.....

For years and years I was allergic to most greenery, so we've had a fake tree most of the time.... as a child we had the real thing and we'd all trapse through the snow across the fields looking for just the right one.... and traditionally once we got it back to the house it would be tooo big and we'd have to lop of the bottom or top, or both to make it fit in the living room!  We used to tease Mom (she always had the final say over which tree we got) that SHE did it again.... LOL

Prayers are going up for all that need them!

Anybody hoarse yet from all this sing-a-long stuff?  No??? Well, then let's try this one out!

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring
Snowing and blowing up bushels of fun
Now the jingle hop has begun

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time
Dancing and prancing in Jingle Bell Square
In the frosty air.

What a bright time, it's the right time
To rock the night away
Jingle bell time is a swell time
To go gliding in a one-horse sleigh
Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet
Jingle around the clock
Mix and a-mingle in the jingling feet
That's the jingle bell,
That's the jingle bell,
That's the jingle bell rock.

Ya'll have a great day my friends!

Good Morning Alissa and the rest of my TMB Family,

Is it really only Tuesday?  Feels like it should be Friday already.  We have a real tree this year.  First time in about 15 years.  I love it though and it smells like Christmas in my house.  We have a blinking star at the top, my favorite ornament is a Precious Moment bride and groom that was given to us when we got married.  Growing up trimming the tree was always a family event.  We would have a fire in the fire place and hot chocolet, and some of my Mom's home made shortbread.  Good times for sure.  Went to the doctor yesterday for my initial meet and greet.  Really nice guy.  He actually listened to me. He is putting in referrals for Gastro and Pain management.  We decided that unless I was having WLS problems we would not put in a referral for Bariatric doc.  He has dealt with patience with Gastric so he was familiar with it and what I needed to do and not do.  All around good experience.  Have to go tomorrow for blood work.  He was very impressed with the list of blood work I should have done.  Thank you Dana.  Eric has his meet and greet this morning with the same doctor.  Wish we could have gotten it all done at once.  Oh well.  Also have to go grocery shopping today.  My Tim wants enchiladas when he is here on Saturday for dinner.  I am so excited to have them coming up again.  It is so wonderful to be so close.  Mark and I are actually going after Christmas to pick him up again at Nadias and keep him for a few days.  Cant wait to have him all to myself!  Ok gone on enough.  Prayers this morning for all those in need.  Have a blessed day.  Love you guys.

I agree with Michelle- it feels like yesterday lasted forever and it should be later in the week! I am in meetings yet again today-all day- and this morning is 2 hours on Medicaid buy-in. Someone please shoot me now. lol. I will have trouble staying awake for sure.
I went to PT yesterday for the first time. I think the T stands for torture! I was in so much pain after that. I actually had to ice it down there because I couldn't walk after the last 2 exercises. Crazy but I'm sure its what I should be doing. I have lots of exercises to take on the road with me to help strengthen the foot. Hopefully I'll finally get some relief from the pain.

Prayer request for my uncle's partner. He has an anherism on the wall of his abdomen or something like that- there is alot of technical words for it. Anyway, he already has a compromised immune system and is in poor health. They live in Florida but had to come to NYC to go to Columbia Hospital for this experimental surgery. We will go see them next week when we go to NYC for the day.

We always had a fresh tree growing up until we moved when I was in HS-then my parents switched to a fake one. It was in those years I formed seasonal allergies and evidently an allergy to Christmas trees because I am now allergic. I found that out about 8 years ago when I got a fresh tree and was sick all of Dec! It took me a while to realize it was the tree because it was the same time we got a dog as well. Decorations- my parents painted ornaments when they first got married and they were on the tree each year. They wanted to get rid of them when we were all grown and we said NOOO so they still put them on the tree. We always did it as a family. My dad built a train track around the tree-actually it was a platform with the train track on it and the tree went in the middle. That way we had a train each year. I loved that growing up. Some of my fav ornaments are the ones Chris did in pre-school and some that I have from my grandma's collection. I also like the one we had personalized last year for our first Christmas as a family!

Hope everyone has a great day!

We have 3 trees in our garage, but we went out and bought a new one this year.  Wanted a small one since it is just Mary and I and two hyper greyhounds.  Less of a chance of it getting knocked over.  We have an angel on top of our tree.

One of the trees in the garage is one Mary made out of macrame.  It is about 6 feet tall.  At the base it is about 3 feet across.  She made it with 3 hoops at three different levels, so it hangs from the ceiling.  We used to put round glass shelves in it and could set up scenes inside the tree.  Three out of four of us loved that tree.  Mary was the one who did not like it.

Our one childhood tradition for decorating the tree was it got decorated the day after Thanksgiving.  Period.  Since there was no school, it gave us kids something to do while we were home without being too much agravation to my mother.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Growing up we had real trees, especially in Maine, but more recently the fake ones have won out in terms of convenience.

Not looking forward to going to work.  At least they let us work the mail again.  But who knows how long that will last.  Anyway, better get into the shower and get there!  Y'all have a great day!  Love ya!

Karen, you're in my prayers today.

Good morning.  Christmas traditions: I collect Santas and Spode Christmas china...my favorite time of the year!  My family has always put up trees right after Thanksgiving.  I get mine up before Thanksgiving so I can enjoy it a little longer.  I love my Christmas decorations.  I put up fake trees because I don't like spending $$ on one that has to be thrown out, plus the fire hazard of real trees.  My lights stay on all the time.  My mom used to give us all Christmas ornaments every year...has since the mid-70's so we have lots of those.  I don't use them now, but have them all.

Lots of folders to do today, then my homebound student tonight for the last time this semester.  We have to finish up her final exams.  Ben finishes his finals and comes home from Aggieland tonight for the holidays.

Prayers for all who need them.

Have a great Tuesday...even though it does seem like it should be later in the week!
