Need liquid diet ideas BECAUSE....
CONGRATULATIONS !!!!
I always recommend the Unjury chicken soup liquid protein because it is a nice alternative to the sweet protein drinks, but it is mail order only and you don't have time to get it.
As for other advice...... SF Popsicles, SF jello - not sure what your doctor allows.....
STAY AWAY FROM FOOD and other people eating - it can be torturous - especially the smells.
My hubbie was very supportive and had the kid and him fed and the food put away before I got home from work.
TV can be aggravating also and you will discover just how much food is advertised LOL.
Buy the smallest amount of protein powder you can as your tastes may change after surgery - small containers, samples, etc.
Just remember - the first 3 days are the worst. After that, your hunger subsides and it gets a little easier. The main thing is *believing* you can do it and sticking with it and you won't have any problems. I survived my 2-week liquid diet and lived to tell the story - YOU WILL TOO!

Congratulations! That's only 11 days away!
Sarah is right....It would have been extremely hard to do without the Unjury Chicken soup. I still have it now, plus I cook with it. After that first 2-3 days I didn't really feel hungry. But the TV ads and smells can really do a number on your brain...stay away from both! DH was a huge help, he ate what I did and if he wanted soemthing I couldn't have he had it for lunch. It was such a help not having anything I couldn't have in the house. I hope you have the same kind of support.

Congrats Jessica!!! I was on liquids for 6 weeks prior to sugery and mainly did Low Carb Slim Fast with added protein powder, SF jello and pudding, and lots of strained soups when I needed to do clear liquids.
Don't spend a whole lot of money stocking up on protein powders to use after surgery. Your taste may change a lot and what you like now may not be what you like later.
Doing the happy dance for you!

Awesome news! I'm right before you on December 14. My surgeon suggests all liquid and one meat and veggie meal per day. For my liquid, I've been using chicken broth, v8 juice, and premier protein drinks from Costco. Someone at the Baylor Plano support group suggested the Premier as she was a few weeks into her VSG. I like them okay (and I'm not a big sweet tooth at all), and they pack 30 grams of protein for 11 ounces.
Good luck!!
Good luck!!
Congrats Jessica! My surgeon's office had me on the slimfast optima shakes and bars, 5 a day. Other than that, I could do 5 oz of grilled or baked chicken, fish, or turkey, and 2c of non starchy veggies (no fruit, potatoes, squash, etc). I could have unlimited broth and jello and of course water.
Hope this helps!

Awesome! The premier shakes at costco are great. Full of protein and fairly thin. They go down easily. Slim Fast has recalled all their ready to drink shakes, so you can't do them right now. I drank a LOT of ramen noddle broth. I just used the flavoring and threw out the noodles. It tastes much better than straight chicken broth. I also loved sugar free popsicles.
