Monday Morning Weigh In

If I had lost 10lbs in one week, I wouldn't worry about a 1lb gain.  It could be as simple as a little water weight, which is easily taken care of.  You are doing so well Dee and this is the hard time of year to keep on track.  You are really doing so well!

Hugs, Mari

People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown

Well, Mari,  is right.

Highest/surgery:  263

Last week (actually 2 weeks ago):  152

Today:  154

Gain for the week:  +2

Total loss:  -109

I'm not giving up on getting to my goal by Christmas, though.  Need to ease up on the CARBS (any surprise there?!).  Even though I don't eat junk carbs, I am eating too many "good" carbs, like nuts, fruit, and whole grains.    Nobody said this was going to be easy.

Lorelei - Your avatar is beautiful!!  Keep at it with the carbs, I find myself doing the same thing and have to keep readjusting.  My body reacts to carbs by retaining fluid like nobody's business so I have to be careful even about the heatlhy carbs.  Good luck on your Christmas goal!

Debbi, thanks for the compliment and the encouragement -- I need all of that I can get!

You know, I may have the same problem with carbs, i.e., retaining water.  That may explain why I occasionally have days I spend almost entirely in the bathroom! -- I call them my "water dump days" and I tend to lose 2-3 pounds at the end of each one of them.  Maybe that is because of carb-induced water retention.  I have m.s., so I had chalked it up to that, and was even about to make an appointment with a neurourologist ... but you have really given me something to think about.  I didn't do this before my WLS and it has my neurologist, an m.s. subspecialist, mighty puzzled.

Awww, thanks, Dana, it's nice of you to say so.  It is amazing what losing 100 lbs. and getting a lower facelift can do for a girl!

LOVE the new Avie!!!!  I don't worry about 2 lbs as long as it stays at 2lbs.  That's why I do this thread every Monday - it keeps it in perspective for me!  I also write my weight on the bathroom calendar every Monday morning so it stares me in the face and is a reminder to Keep It Real!!!  This is my first "real" holiday season since WLS so it's been tough, especially with all the stress right now!  And you are right no one told me it was going to be easy...contrary to those who think we took the "easy way out."  Hang in there...you'll get it!!!

Hugs, Mari

I'm pretty sure I gained a couple of pounds while on vacation.  I'll let ya know Wednesday since that was the last time I remember what I weighed. LOL!

I'm not worried.  I was on vacation of any and all stress - whi*****luded weight!
