Need Advice!!
Good for you!! I had RNY gastric bypass with Dr. Garth Davis 15 months ago and am now at goal and wear size 6/8. Just follow what your doctor tell you to do and you will be fine.
I wish I had started exercising sooner. I really did not do anything until 7 months post-op. Now I love it.
What advice do you need??

Read people's profiles and you will find out a TON of info. A few things...take your measurements and "before" photos-these are both invaluable along the journey. Don't buy a lot of protein and stuff ahead of time-your tastebuds might change and you'll be stuck with a crapload of stuff you don't use or hate. Finally, walk, sip, rest and hang on tight cuz this is gonna be the wildest ride of your life. Welcome to our TMB family.

Stephanie gave you some good advice. I also recommend you follow YOUR post-op plan, don't compare yourself to others, it's YOUR journey. We all experience different situations, if you have a question feel free to ask, we'll do our best to share our experience......however, remember you picked your surgeon because you were comfortable with him so if you have any techinal questions his office should be your first choice for answers.

Congratulations on making a decision to change your life for the better. I am just one year out and am so grateful for the chance I have to live my life. I learned so much by just reading people profiles and reading the boards. Chances are if you have a question, someone who started their journey before you has already asked it so searching might help for some key subjects, too. You won't know what to as****il you read it here and the good news is you'll probably read the answer right after it with the replies to the original post.
I wish you an uneventful surgery and pain free recovery.

I weighed 313 pounds on December 1, 2008 the day of my RNY surgery and have lost 81%
of my excess body weight to-date. Current as of November 1, 2009
OH Mini-Challenge Goal for New Year's Day is 170 pounds. 11 pounds to go!
I second what Stephanie said about not buying a bunch of stuff pre-op. My taste buds and sense of smell changed post-op. I have protein shake mixes that I either need to give away or trash because I'm never going to use them again. The same is true of chewable vitamins and minerals. You will get tired of them. If your surgeon allows, practice taking pills with small sips of water now. I would also practice sipping your fluids. There's a big difference between 60-80 ounces of water pre-op when you can swallow large amounts and 60-80 post op when you have to sip.
Take a pillow to the hospital to cushion your stomach for the ride home.
Walk, walk, and walk some more. Pre- and post-op. It does help the healing process.
Follow your doctor's and your NUT's directions. Call them with questions. It's what they're there for.
