Sad day....
In case ya'll missed it, someone dropped off a momma cat with 3 brand new babies as well as 3 full size one. I highly suspect they were her last little because they will still nursing her! Anyway, despite all our efforts we haven't been able to find homes for any of them. So the last thing we wanted to have to do us here, we're taking them to the animal shelter today. I'm really hoping folks will be going there for Christmas kitties this year and am trying not to think what will probably happen to them all. We're might be keeping one of them but just can't handle more than that. They have already torn up or pooped on everything in the garage. If DH had his way they would have already died of lead poisoning! Joking....but I know how he hated them sharpening claws on his golf bag!
So ya'll please add a small prayer that these beautiful creatures finds homes for Christmas!

Awww, that is sad. I'm glad you tried there first, though.
I totally understand. I have always been called the Pet Angel or Saint! Lost/sick animals gravitate to me. I have handed over that job to my (adult) daughter now. The now gravitate to her (she just bought a home 3 doors down from me) so I can give them a little boost that direction!
I'm hoping those little kitties find a warm and loving home for Christmas.

Aww... Dee that is so hard. I know because I just got through spending $40 for an outdoor heated car pad for a stray that someone dumped off in our neighborhood. We have 3 indoors kitties already and the litter boxes can't handle another one but he is used to being outdoors and seems to be happy to hanging out. I also had to go buy $60 worth of Advantage flea medicine for 4 cats after we brought fleas into the house after petting him....... My hubbie isn't thrilled, either because this stray is cutting into our Christmas budget! But he is so ugly and scrawny (I gave him worm medicine 2 weeks ago also and he is fattening up finally) and not a kitten anymore that I am afraid he would just be put to sleep. He is such a sweetie - likes to be held and sits in your lap and purrs......
But we can't rescue them all and someone may need a kittie for Christmas, like you said. At least you are giving them a chance - more than they would have on the street.

Yeah, that was the other thing. It was going to cost over $200 just to get them all tested, treated, vaccinated. We kept one of the tom cats. The lady at the shelter let us know right quick we were breaking the law by 'allowing' any animal to run wild and would be prosecuted if anyone complained. I asked her about the idiots who dumped them all on my doorstep and of course she had no answer for that! While we were there several people were looking at the older kittens so hopefully they'll all have a chance. At least I prefer to hope so. We both shed a few tears on the home but it couldn't be helped.
