Losing inches, not pounds....

Guys, I feel like I've done everything right for the most part, eat very well (lets be honest, 98% of the time!), I was at one point working out regularly (the past 4-6 weeks I've not been able to because of the severe anemia and lack of energy), logging my foods, taking my vits, etc...

Please give me any advice, insight or tips you have...

I know everyone reaches a plateau, and also at some points, your body will lose inches and not pounds, but I have been at a very slow crawl with the weight loss for lets say, the last 6 months! And I am only almost a year out!

By four or five months out, I had lost 55 lbs. Now, I'm at about a 75 lbs weight loss. For someone who started at 355, that does not excite me.   :-(

The last few months I have been dealing with various medical issues, and as I am working to resolve them ( should be starting iron infusions next week, and getting an endoscopy to check for ulcers), I am really praying I will be able to up my weight loss a lot more... Does anyone know how the anemia and certain other problems affect the weight loss?

I am comforted though, that even though I'm "up" 4 lbs, in the last month I've dropped 3 pant sizes. It baffles me. I only drink water and sugar free koolaid all the time, eat well, and rarely drink alcoholic beverages...maybe once a month...

Any encouraging words? Please bring them on!

I've had this happen from time to time over the last 3 years. Try to focus on the fact that you are eating healthy and excersizing and that you are losing pants sizes which is a great thing!!
Keep it up and I bet soon you'll drop more pounds.

I think that once you get your other health issues resolved, you will start losing again.  Stress can do strange things to our bodies.  Take care of yourself!!

everyone loses at differnt paces and in differnt ways - yeah I know that is not what you wanted to hear :)  we all want someone - anyone to tell us do XYZ and poof the weight will move - no magic` words for you - sorry

however a couple of notes/ideas
3 pants sizes if pretty major - presurgery when did you ever lose 3 sizes??

stress will make your body hold on to weight - flight or fight thing going there - as will lack of sleep

our bodys take breaks and rearange things - I have dropped sizes with out losing ANY weight - now that a weird feeling so I understand where you are coming from

ok I am sure you don't want to hear this but sometimes after the "honeymoon " you just have to kick it up to lose more - the hope is that you have learned enough good habits to carry you though losing the rest

Take a look at some of us that are "old timers" we maintained not quite where we wanted to be and then a year or 3 or 6 latter decided we had to work our tool agian to accually lose more - check out Kathy bender, nurse gina.... trying to think who else has lost farther out - I have recently and it was not easy but was doable.

hang in there - pm me if you would like my digits and I am always up for support, ideas or whatever you need

peace

Kim, I'd log my food and for a week or two and set up an appt with Dr Nick's nutritionist.  She would be the best one to help you.  There are some people that are just slow losers despite doing everything right and you might be one of them.  How many calories are you eating a day?  What's the protein-fat-carb breakdown?  Sometimes if you're not eating enough, that can have an adverse effect and you might actually need to UP your calories.  Hang in there, 75 lbs is 75 lbs!!  I think that's a huge amt of weight to of lost.
