New here....surgery set for Monday December 14!
Howdy, Texas neighbors! I've been spending some time on the VSG board but just really found my Texas friends. My story is like most, been overweight WAY too many years. I've been happily married to my best friend for 21 years, no kids. We travel a lot, and we have so many more places to go in life. I'm 41, and I really never thought weight loss surgery was for me. But, after numerous attempts to lose, I have found I need help. I decided on the sleeve for various reasons, and Dr. Nicholson here in Dallas is my surgeon.
I'm on my 14 day preop diet right now after a nine day trip to Walt Disney World. It's going better than I thought, and I'm staying on track.
I live in the Southwest Dallas area, and I look forward to the support I can get from you guys and offer back in return.
I'm nervous and excited, and I get goosebumps reading of others journeys and successes. I know this is right for me, but I'm just a weenie when it comes to surgery!
I hope to join in at any support group meetings when I can as I'm a big advocate of talking and learning from each other. I also am attending the Plano Baylor support group meetings the second Wednesday of every month.
Take care and Merry Christmas!
Theresa
Welcome to the TMB !!! We truely are like one big family here on the TMB. SO glad that you found us. Don't be nervious.....Dr. Nick is a great surgeon although he wasn't mine....I know of lots of his patients who are very pleased with his work and are extremely successful. There are LOTS of support groups available all over Texas and especially in your area and around Dallas, Plano, and Frisco areas, Just wait and I know others will chime in. I lead a support group that meets once a month in Hurst on the first sunday of the month ( which happens to be this sunday ). If you want to join my group it is called Lose It 4 LIfe. We meet at Starbucks 1324 W. Pipeline Rd. in Hurst from 3:30 - 4:30. Please don't be scared.....you will be in great hands and be so successful with your WLS. The VSG is a awesome surgery !!!
