Protein Mix Question
My brother purchased me some Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein in Vanilla and Chocolate flavors. The vanilla mixes and tastes great in my coffee. However, when I mix the chocolate protein into hot cocoa I get the lumping. Does anyone know why that would happen and if there is anything I can do to stop it? Also, once it lumps if I strain the lumps out am I still getting all my protein? And my last question is regarding the product's nutritional value. What is your opinion of it as a supplement?

Are you premixing theprotein before adding it to your coffee? If not, protein can't take heat over 130º unless you pre-mix it in cool to lukewarm water first. I add just enough water to start it all dissolving, then add the ho****er that's about 190º. The only time I've had lumps is when I didn't premix.
The stats look pretty good. I like the Nectar Sweets Vanilla Bean Torte. It's very close to everything but only has 90 calories. It also isn't as think and sweet as most vanilla proteins. Just an alternate idea.

I use Body Fortress too. It's the only protein powder that I can stand and I like the price. The only time the chocolate has done that to me was when the water was too hot when I added it to my protein paste. It was NASTY!

Do you have a Facebook account? I do! Look me up and add me Courtney Clark-Lamberson, just put OH in the request (so I know I know you!)
The nut stats look good - i am assuming you are using ONE scoop not two at the time (a lot of debate on how much you can absorb at the time but my point is I hate to spend that many calories at one time on anything I drink)
I would make sure you are mixing it into something cool before you add it to your hot chocolate - I use mine (EAS van or choc) in both coffee and hot chocolate - I mix one scoop with between 2 and 3 oz of milk (that is my limit on milk tolorance) then pour that into what I am drinking.
If you add that to something hot and shake it make sure you take the lid off the shaker FAST it will explode - and chocolate is a biotch to get off the ceiling, berry is just as bad LOL
oh I never strain it if it lumps - I shake it some more , if they come out great if not it goes down the drian and I start over - that is a texture thing with me not a nutition thing so I have no idea how straining it would effect the nut values

The others have addressed the clumping question. I want to address the nutrition question. Whey protein isolate is better-quality protein (90-95% protein) than whey protein concentrate (can go as low as 25% protein), so I buy powders that are all isolate. I also like the ones that have no added fat or carbs. My faves are Syntrax Nectar, Isopure low carb, and Unjury. They are all whey protein isolate and have little or no fat or carbs. And they taste good to me.
Also, if you strain it, you will lose protein---it's the protein that clumps from the high temperature.
