Good morning gang!  I work the late shift today so stopping by to catch up and say hellos this morning.

The semester is almost over, but I'm taking a winter mini-mester that meets every night for 2 weeks till the end of the year.  THEN I have off 1/1-1/17/10 to rest up before kicking off the spring term.  It's going well.  I'm pleased with my scores.  Got a small scholarship that I'm using next semester and I've applied for several more.  Praying they come through.  I know DH and I agreed i would be worth it in the long run, but interest rates are going up and school is expensive.

I'm still training 3 days a week and it looks like I missed layoffs again this year at my day job.  Thank GOD!!  DS1 just got his TABC license and is looking for a bartending job that he hopes will pay for his schooling.  DS2 is waiting tables at two places which is paying for his school very well.  I think we're going to apply for DD to get a hardship license in Jan.  She's a good driver and with both of us working 2 jobs and me in school, her schedule is killing us.  Getting herself back and forth to school would be a huge relief.  The boys are upset with us, but she's just flat outr more mature than they were at this age.  That way she can also get a part time job to pay for her expenses.  Anyone need a babysitter?  She's CPR certified and is really good with kids.  ;)

Ok. While I could write a book to catch you up with me, I want to catch up with you.  Gotta run so I can go read.  HUGS

morning everyone,

Seeing that two of my peeps are dealing with possible layoffs, I am going to be grateful I have a job. It is incredibly horrible right now and they are basically UNpromoting me without the title and pay removal;  but so far it will pay the bills, so I will be grateful.  MARI, I am so very sorry you have to deal with the stress of this again. It's been right at a year, hasn't it?

I did get the condo (loan wise) so my realtor has the closing set for the afternoon of the 11th.  we will try to get all the big stuff moved on the 12th and then the little can come later.  I plan to move as as little as possible and I'm purging tons of stuff.  I have collected for over 4 years here and most stuff I don't even know I have.

Very cold here and Emm is all crazy thinking we will have a snow day on Friday - ain't gonna happen.  but she can dream, right?

Healing prayers for all.  Prayers requested for me for some patience.  Prayers for my work leaders to realize the error of their ways, so to speak.

Make it the best day possible

Becky

It will be a year January 12th, so yeah - I am hearing that this one will be over by Christmas and for that I have one word for TPTB at my company........*******S!!!!! OK, let's make it 2 and add GREEDY in front of it!  Cuz this is all about the all mighty dollar and the owner is pushing for more and more and more!!!! Yea, I'm a little angry about it right now! I've had a horrible day and tomorrow is another one!

Good morning...CRUISE UPDATE is posted on a seperate thread.

Let's see...favorite toy...PICK UP STICKS.  Yes, I know, they cost 49 cents in my day but I swear I loved them.  My sister and I played with them for hours.  I HATED dolls (sorry you Barbie fans) and I played outside all year round.  In the winter I guess my "saucer" and toboggan were my favorite cuz we always played in the snow.  The only thing I ever remember asking for that I didn't get was a horse. (YES, I was spoiled).  My Dad did buy a professional race horse that ran at the track but it wasn't the same-I couldn't ride him!!  My daughter's favorite was her My Little Pony" collection.  She has over 300 ponies and all the stables, etc.  She played with them for YEARS and they are safely in our attic awaiting grandbabies. (which better not be anytime soon).

I worked yesterday with a new employee that drove me absolutely crazy for 12 solid hours.  I wanted to kill myself by the time I left.  Thank GOD she will only be working 1-2 times a month.

Better get dressed and head out to grab some groceries.  Also need to pick up a gift for the "gift exchange" at the Christmas party next weekend.  Then it's off to meet Clay for lunch and pick an "Angel" off his tree at work.  Hope you have a great day and prayers for all those hurting.

Good Morning Alissa and the rest of my TMB Family,

Its a very cold day here in Dover and they are talking about snow for the weekend.  I hope so.  I am a little late getting on this morning but have been running around trying to keep busy.  Eric at school, Mark at his first day of work and me well...I'm a little on the lonely side but will be heading out soon to get groceries.  My favorite toy as a kid, well I actually had a couple of them one was my Jane West Doll, with her horse and stabel that my dad built, my cardboard kitchen that had actually had running water, and my Huckelberry Hound dog that sang "Oh My Darlin."  Cant think of anything I asked for that I did not get.  I am sure there were a few things just dont remember.  Got most of my extended family shopped for on line and will arrive at their homes in time for Christmas.  Glad to have it out of the way.  Mari, I am really sorry you are dealing with all this stress.  I will be praying for you!  Prayers for those that are in need this morning.  Have a blessed day.  Love you guys.

OMG -- I LOVED Huckleberry Hound!!!!  I bet he was soooooo cute!!!!!  Do you have pictures?

Thanks for the prayers - I am hoping against all hope that I don't need them, but somebody will because it's NOT over!

Thanks and many hugs,
Mari

I wish I had pictures but I dont.  I just remember him being an aqua blue and you pulled a string from the bac and he sang.  If you remember him you probably remember Quick Draw McGraw.   He was another of my favorites!  Glad to know there are others out there that remember like I do!
