Just a little Post op Update!!! Kinda long but EXCITING for me!
So i had surgery on Tuesday, November 24 at about 9:30 am. I got to my room at about 12:30 after surgery and recovery and everything went well. I got out of bed at about 3:30 that same day like it was nothing! I walked all day long! That evening a nurse on that floor could not believe how well i was getting around and seriously did not believe me when i told her that i had surgery just that very morning! I slept pretty well and had the nasty drink test at about 6:30 am and everything came back great. They took me off all IV's at around 10:30 am on the 25th and i changed into regular clothes and walked the halls even more. I was bored sitting in the bed. As i went to walk the halls i passed my doctor's PA who was coming to do an assesment on me. So we went to my room and she was amazed on how well i was getting around and how well i looked. Everything from surgery looked and sounded great. This was just a little over 24 hours after surgery and she looked at me and said... well since you are doing so well, would you like to go home??? OF COURSE I WOULD LOVE TO GO HOME!!!! so she told me as long as i peed on my own then i could leave. She wanted me to pee on my own since my cathater was taken out not long before and i hadn't done it on my own yet. My husband couldn't come and get me until 2:30 so i had plenty of time do accomplish that! Heck, i packed my bags, took a nap, walked around, put on make up, got on the internet, and PEED! It was time to go! I even walked down to my car instead of being wheeled out!
I left the hospital and went down the road to Herman Hospital to visit our cousin who just had a baby!!!
The next day (thanksgiving) my husband drove me to the store to get the stuff to make sweet potatoes for my sister's thanksgiving dinner (eventhough i couldn't eat... i just couldn't go empty handed!!) I made the sweet potatoes then we headed to my mother in laws house then to my sister's house. Had a great time visiting with family. After the thanksgiving festivities we took my son to my aunt's house so he could stay the night and go to the Ren Fest with them today!!!
Today... 3 days after surgery, me, my husband, and my 6 month old daughter went shopping at 5:30 am. We shopped at 11 stores and I wore my husband out... as he's in bed next to me calling the pigs!!! haha! He even had to tell me today to slow down my walking!
Overall i think i'm doing pretty well. I only get sore on my left side. My hardest part so far is not being able to play with my 6 month old daughter they way i used to... i will by next week though!!!
I have taken a water bottle with me everywhere i go and been sipping all day every day. I have had a little bit of broth and a teeny tiny bit of jello... only because i know i need something more then jus****er!
I came out of the hospital weighing more then when i went in... i think from all the fluids. But i have already lost everything that i gained in the hospital which was 6 lbs.
Ok this is long enough so i'll quit... but i could go on and on!!!

WOW Tiffany, I cannot believe you have that much energy already. I did well after surgery also but didn't attempt too much as others said the exhaustion WILL hit, and it did on week 3.
Take it slow sweetie, keep sipping and walking but please be sure you rest up some too.
Hugs,

WOO HOO YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY !!!
I didn't notice your surgeon until after I read your story and of course wasn't surprised LOL. When Dr. Garth came to see me the day after my surgery he said I didn't look like I had even had surgery and I also got to go home a day early. The Davis' do a great job. Congratuations !!!!

Thanks everyone! I am definitely resting. My husband has been and will be home until he goes back on tuesday night and he has done EVERYTHING! (I have a wonderful husband!) He tends to the baby 100% so i try to help out with our 6 year old (he doesn't really need help because he does EVERYTHING on his own!!!) I get to go lay down whenever i want. He even gives up his recliner to me! So i definitely do get to rest! Yesterday in between our 2 rounds of shopping me and the baby girl took a 3 hour nap together! I can't wait to go to my checkup next week.
I do have a question though... How long was it before any of you drove?
