Don't be disappointed if they don't let you donate so soon after your surgery. It is good of you to want to try. God bless.

Be careful with the giving of blood...not to be a party pooper on it, but I always loved being able to give.  I did after RNY and now have to get iron shots to keep my iron levels up.  As Charlene said, normally you aren't allowed to give blood for 6 mos. or so after surgery anyway.  You may want to rethink donating again...you could save someone else but risk your own good health.  After researching when it happened to me, it is best NOT to donate even for yourself (which was what I was doing) after RNY.  Many drs. don't realize the effect it has on an RNY patient, so may not give good advice.  My plastic surgeon had me give and it was not good advice!  I had my plastics cancelled twice when I was being prepped due to this.

If you are able to give bring peanut butter crackers or a protein bar to eat after. I do that after fasting bloodwork and it seems to work.

I am thankful for my home, family, job, and the many new friends I have from OH!

Yesterday we came to Aggieland, got my car services at the Toyota dealership, went to see "Blindside"...great movie!, checked in at our bed and breakfast and then went to Messina Hof Winery for dinner and then to a friend's house here who just moved in and wanted us to see her new house w/ the furniture in it.  It's gorgeous.

Today we are going to meet our friends and my sister and BIL at Luby's for lunch, then tailgating at A & M until ballgame time.  then maybe, just maybe see A & M beat TU tonight...who knows?

Prayers for all who need them, especiallly Dana, Richard and Gina!

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving.  I've got a lazy day planned.  Not eating dinner until after Hailey comes home from work so probably around 5-6 pm.  Clay fixed us a big breakfast of home fries, eggs and bacon so I'll be good until dinner.

Mr Wonderful (Hailey's BF) is upstairs sleeping since he worked last night.  We're REALLY trying to "welcome" him into our family but it's hard with our past history.  But the dogs love him so he can't be all that bad!!

Just paid THREE dollars for a black friday newspaper and so far I'm not impressed.  I haven't decided if I'm going to venture out tomorrow or not. 

Time to start making dressing to stuff the bird with so I'd better run.  Have a super day with those you love whether it be in person or in your heart.
