I have trouble with Turkey too, but can eat it with gravy....  It's such a good meat, but a struggle to get down otherwise.  White meat chicken gets stuck on me too....

These 'food' holidays really aren't a temptation anymore there's just the 2 of us. We've ordered 2 T dinners takeout from Cracker Barrel, we plan to avoid the long wait by taking it home. There'll be no leftovers to tempt us, no clean up, easy peasy!

In the past, I seldom had to do the cooking other than a side dish or two to take along to SIL or MIL house. I always made sure NOT to bring home any leftovers. There was always 'strays' (as in not family) around the table at SIL so we made sure to pack up the left overs right at the table and hand them out. I don't think she ever kept even a sandwich worth of turkey! But it always worked for us and others were glad to take them away.

I hope everyone has a fun, happy and safe Thanksgiving with your family and/or friends. Enjoy the ones you're with!

Last year I was only 4 months out so I only was able to eat a few bites and was full.  However, a few hours later when everyone was still rolling on the couch feeling miserable, I got me a small plate and had some bites of what I missed the first time.

This year I will be able to eat a bit more so I have to be more careful, especially since I am cooking and will be taste-testing some of it.  I am keeping it simple so the only thing that really needs taste-testing is the dressing because I don't measure the seasoning - literally do it "to taste" and dressing fills me up quick!  I will have to get my hubbie to help with that.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!

Another plate trick...if you DO go somewhere and they have those huge "as long as your arm" Chinet PLATTERS...get yourself a paper napkin or half of a paper towel and literally put it on one half of the plate.  If that side is "occupied" your eyes won't see that area as "available"!
