Do I pack the scale and take it with me for 2.5 weeks?
buy my sister one for her house when I get there and just skip the 3 days in DFW (or use Debbi's)?
or do I trust myself that if my jeans fit I am ok and not gaining too much??

HELP!!!!

and if you don't weight all the time normally I know this makes no sence but I weigh minimum 2 times a day so just doing nothing is a REALLY hard option  - even just to list it here

peace

Danni you know I've lived for my scale for the past years.  I've just recently challenged myself to not weigh everyday especially when I'm having an emotionally stressful day.  Why add more to the craziness, eh?

Why not try it and see how you do without it.  You are right, your jeans will tell you if you are doing the right things.  You'll have enough to pack for 2.5 weeks, don't add another 3-4 lbs for the scale.

Do it chica, NO SCALE!

Danni, Step away from the scale maam!! Challenge yourself to at least do without it in DFW!! I am so a rehabilitated Scale Ho, so I do know where you are coming from. I really never thought I could live without the scale and would pack it even for overnight getaways. I haven't weighed now in over 6 months unless it was at the doc's office and you know what? I haven't missed it at all.....it no longer controls me!!! I know if my pants are too tight that I gotta step it up! That's how I have put ME more in control of MY life these days. It took a lot and I went cold turkey!

You can do this!!!!!! You have made this work for you and you are in control!!

hugz,
Gina

Do you realize how hard it would be to gain 22 lbs in 2.5 weeks?  Honey you'd have to eat all day every day to achieve that.  If you plan your day like you have been on the Nuttin but Nutrition thread and give yourself a little leadway for vacation then you will do fine.  So if you gain 5 lbs in 2 weeks, is it the end of the world, NO; you've lost 10 lbs in 11 days, or is that 11 lbs in 10 days (brain fart).......I KNOW you can do it again.

Enjoy yourself.......BELIEVE IN YOURSELF; tell that scale it doesn't control you.

Believe me it took me some time to not get on it everyday multiple times a day......I'm mentally healthier now by not doing it as it can't control my actions and reactions.

Dani,

It is vacation.  Enjoy yourself.  Relax enjoy family and friends and forget the scale.  I know you will be running non stop so just relax you won't gain.

I'm going to chime in with the posters that say to leave the scale at home. You know what to do to keep from gaining, and even if, by some weird chance, you DO gain 22 pounds, you will just have to step up and lose it again. Bottom line - enjoy your vacation, be mindful of your healthy/unhealthy behaviours, don't let a number on a damn scale rule your life (you're better than that!)

Look at it this way. The reason your are here is because you decided to change your life and made a major health decision that has turned your life around for the better. Why jump on a scale to remind you of where you were when it is the road forward that matters. We all need to check from time to time for a ton of reasons, ego, health, bored or just wonder how much I lost. The scale was never the problem and will not be the solution. So toss the scale enjoy your life and new path. I am sure you can find something more fun to do. Could always just throw it out the window but remember to open it first. LOL
