Oh and I concur on the sweet taters.... eat them straight out of their skins with a little butter and salt...
Now I'm hungry! LOL

Honestly.... homemade pecan pie, even if I can only have a bite, it's TOTALLY worth it!!!!
Okay, homemade mashed potatoes, homemade dressing....
See a them here????
Really - just love doing the cooking and watching everyone enjoy their Thanksgiving!
Also, this year we decided to do something a little different. We are cutting the calories and fat by not having green bean casserole, baked beans or mac & cheese.
This year my menu looks better:
Turkey
Dressing
Gravy
Cranberries
Homemade mashed potatoes
Steamed Carrots
Broccoli Salad (homemade and devine!)
Garden Salad with homemade/lowfat ranch
Veggie tray
Shrimp tray
Rolls & butter for those that want them

Can I have your broccoli salad recipe? I have several but always looking for more salad recipes.
My sister makes a wonderful veggie salad with white corn, french cut green beans, peas, purple onion, apple cider vinegar, sugar (can use splenda) and pimentos. I need to get the recipe from her, it is sooooo good.

I take 2-3 large broccoli florets and very finely take them apart (so you have tiny, bite size pieces of broccoli, no stalk)
about 1 cup golden raisins
Sunflower Seeds (I omit them)
Crispy bacon - to taste more or less
Purple onion, finely chopped
Garlic salt to taste
Dressing:
1 cup mayo (low fat or light is my preference)
2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 tablespoons baking splenda
Normally, make this the night before and add the bacon just before eating. The vinegar dressing softens the broccoli and the whole thing tastes very sweet.
Enjoy!
