I've had an exciting 24 hours!

I have a history of pinched nerves, the worst is in my lower neck at T-5 - T-6. Some 'twinges' were brought on my DH using the desktop and I spent several hours on the laptop. Problem with the laptop is I have to keep my head tilted back to see out of my bifocals. Yesterday was my monthly play day with my Sewing Sisters so although I had a few twinges I went ahead. The day went pretty well as long as I took several breaks....and shopped for fabric in the meantime! Then on the way home Janis, my friend who was driving, had to slam on the breaks because of an idiot on the road. I felt the pull then! By 8 o'clock I knew I wasn't going to last until Monday but the only pain meds I had was Tylenol and some leftover liquid Lortab. Guess what I grabbed! It temporarily took the edge off but by 1a I was in the ER. I think they all got tired of hearing me tell them about my surgery and shoving the list of NSAIDS I couldn't have under their nose! I got a shot of Dilaudid with Phenergan and I think a shot of Torodol but I'm not sure....have to call to get my records....but at that point I really didn't care what they did. The Dr. ass*ured me one shot of NSAID wasn't going to do any lasting damage but I'm still going to let Dr. Garth know about it tomorrow. 

So here I sit in a drug induced haze when I'm not sleeping...please forgive me if I forget to use the spell checker...but at least I can do personal things for myself today! I got a script for more liquid Lortab, Tizanidine HCL 4mg and a Medrol Dosepak. There again, I'll be checking further with Dr. G.

So if anything I post seems out of character or not many any more sense than usual...please consider the cir****tance!

 Dee....so sorry that you have a hurt back right now.    The ER doctor is right.   NSAIDS now and again won't hurt you unless you take it on a regular basis.    I have not taken any since before my surgery 4 yrs ago.   Hope you get better really soon.

So sorry to hear you feel so crappy.  Suck down some good drugs and get to feeling better.

OH Dee!  How painful is that???  YEOWWWCH!!!  I hope that the pain meds help!  and you feel better soonly!

oh girl! BTDT, and OMG the misery! neck spasms are usually what causes my migrains! Poor you!!! The Tordol shot is fine, have had more than a few of those myself since my RNY.  The shot is better than taking the pill, and as long as you dont do it on a regular bases you are good,

ouch! what an evening - hope you woke up feeling better (drugs can be good things you know) this morning - from what I understand a shot is better than a pill b/c it doesn't go into your pouch to irritate it - call and see what your doc says but I do OK with most pain meds I could take presurgery now -  caffeine, alcohol and stress are harder on my ulcers than NSAIDS meds that are an occasional thing

Oh Dee, I hope you feel better this morning.  I'm very reluctant to do any NSAIDS too, I'm fearful of it causing ulcers myself.  I do believe from what I've read the shot is less likely to cause issues than something by mouth.
