The NIGH****CHMAN - Thursday 11/19

Good afternoon all. Going to be a quick start today, as my boss has actual manual labor for me today.  Gotta cut up papers.  And have to use scissors, as we do not have a paper cutter.  Each page gets cut up into four strips (phone numbers and addresses are printed on all).  Oh well, it is a good job.  And I will still be able to watch Survivor while I do it.

Mary made me proud today.  We made up a list for shopping.  We never follow the list completely, I know that and live with it.  I told her to just do me a favor and keep it unde $100.  It was a good list, but we knew what was on sale.  She texted me when she was done.  She went over.  Total bill:  $100.12.    Pretty good.  Now the only thing we have to buy for Thanksgiving is the perishables.  Mushrooms, peppers, soy milk.  Little stuff.

Well, gotta get to work.  Later - from the other job.

Just so you know, you need to TAKE YOUR VITAMINS  SUPPLEMENTS and make sure you get your daily allotment of PROTEIN.

If you are new to the board, this link explains what the NIGHT WATCHMAN is (if you are interested).  Otherwise, just read on, you will probably figure it out anyway.

Good Evening!

Not much to report here.  Today I had a meeting with my boss to discuss my AR before I send it in.  We discussed everything from what I do and where I want to go.  She told me I was selling myself short on what I put on my AR.  So we beefed that up.  Then we went on to discuss my goals were.  Well i have on there that I would like to look into Procurement, Traffic & Logistics, Electrical Design.  She was so excited that I have goals and looking at where I would want to go after I feel like my job/time is complete at my current position.  She said she would be disappointed if I left but did understand and wanted me to spread my wings.  She said she would be the first to cut the ribbon and let me move on if wanted to.  That made me feel pretty good.  Of course I won't be leaving for at least 2-4 years so I can go to college.  She is going to allow me to be mentored for 6 months while continuing to do my job and hopefully help me decide where I want to be with the company.

Have a great night and be careful.

I had my one on one with my supervisor last night.  The same stuff as always, but her reaction was different.  You have to understand, I am 58 years old.  I work overnight and do not have to do much.  I get to surf the net.  I do not work hard.  I am paid well.  So, when she asks what are my goals, my answer is "I've reached them."  But she was satisfied with that.  The first supervisor I have had that understands.

That would have been answer last year when I finally left my other job.  I dealt with being treated like crap and not talk to, to being their best friend after I lost all my weight to men now hitting on me.  I also dealt with supervisors who wouldn't care if the customer treated you poorly, they were the customer and these were just other employees at NASA but they were called the customer.  I hated my job but I couldn't leave until I found one and my expectations were high on that.  I had great insurance at my previous job, pay wasn't too bad.  I finally got hired onto a company who believes family comes first and a big plus is that my husband and I work together.  What else is great is I had a gentleman come down and start yelling at me about access and everytime I tried ask him a question he wouldn't let me talk.  I tried calling my boss at the time but she was on the phone so I did what I needed to and got him on his way.  I was so mad my face was red that I started walking down to a conference room to shut myself in so no one would see me.  I was caught by a lady that I work with and she asked me what was wrong, then it proceeded down to my top boss of my department.  She was furious and got with my boss and told her to call his boss, him, & she would report him to HR.  I was so amazed that they felt that way.  I had never been treated like that and now I know I don't have to take crap off of no one.  I just end up calling my boss if it gets to bad and she deals with it.  The sad part to this story is that the guy waited until my coworker left to be able to talk to him and said that he didn't think he did anything wrong and thought I was having a bad day.  He said that he was written up to by HR.

Have a great George and get some rest.

Hi-dee-ho everyone!
Sheeewww, laaaate night for me.  JUST getting to sit down.  V needed this bread that my grandmother used to make for a project she is doing so spent the afternoon/evening mixing, kneading, letting rise, punching down, kneading again, shaping, etc.  It just came out of the oven like 45 min. ago.  Now have to go make lunches.  I'd rather just crash!!!
